Rated 4 out of 5 by luvtherun Love the pattern, great for running
The pattern and waist band are awesome. I think they work great. The only downfall (I personally find) is the tightness in the thighs. I think the fit is comfortable overall, but like one of the picture reviews mentioned, it does not fit very flattering around the inner thighs unless you have a "straight" inner thigh. It tends to squeeze more on one thigh than the other. It's strange, but I wouldn't call it a bad short for this. I am just not sure I'd pay the $50 again for another pair. (Who knows...maybe it's just me. Maybe I just need to slim down some! Pff!) Anyway, I purchased them for running and when I ran in them, they didn't seem to ride up. They worked fine. I think I would advise anyone to either 1. go to the store to try it on to be 100% positive, 2. size up one, or 3. go with your best instincts and purchase TTS online (don't say I didn't warn you). Again, I'd say they run TTS at the waist, but one might consider a size up depending on the fit in the thigh area. Beautiful designs though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JenJenTX Great for spin!
I currently own 2 pairs of these shorts and am always on the look-out for bright new colors and patterns to pick up because I just LOVE wearing these to spin class! Before discovering these shorts, I was perfectly comfortable wearing crops or knee-length pants. But these shorts were absolute game changers. Granted, spin is a very sweaty activity. I am delighted, though, that it is significantly cooler in What The Sport Shorts. The waistband is high enough for full coverage and snug enough to prevent slippage. (Don't be turned off because the waistband is thick black elastic. It is very comfortable and your top will cover it completely.) The legs stay put and are a flattering length - not too long and not so short as to leave little to the imagination. These shorts are super paired with a CRB or SRB tank. For reference, I am 5' 5" and 112 lbs. with a lean, slim build. Size 4 fits perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Healthyisalifestyle Fantasitic shorts!
First of all after reading other reviews i am glad I ordered a size up from normal. As a 5'4" 118lb athletic build, these shorts in a size 6 have worked perfectly from everything from 1/2 marathons to Crossfit classes. They have stayed put for me and feel great no matter what the workout.

Rated 1 out of 5 by vbgirl17 Disappointed
After reading so many great reviews I figured, sure why not try them out so I ordered my normal size of 4. When I got them, they were WAY too small! I don't have big legs, but these shorts made them look like stuffed sausages! Very disappointed in these shorts, and of course I can't return them because they were final sale.... Wish I never bought them in the first place. They should have "runs small" written below them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LuluGuy Was expecting better
I was looking for run shorts similar to the Run: Shorty Shorts from a few years ago, but with a longer inseam. I thought these might be similar, however after testing them out, I found they ride up because there are no silicone grippers on the inside of the shorts. The fabric also feels thin and the pigment wave pattern looks washed out on my shorts.

These shorts have changed my life. I was so obsessed with speed tights for my distance runs (which are basically every day now). When it started getting warmer, I had gotten so used to having those awesome side pockets that I had no idea what to do besides overheat with the speed tights.
And then came these wonderful things. They fit great, you can put so much in the pockets (phone, snacks, gels, AND keys) and they stay put. They don't ride up for the most part.
Best distance running shorts on the market. Hands down.
A couple things I that would make these ever better and actually worth the money:
1. zip pocket in the back like other shorts
2. either make sweat less visible or make it more sweat-wicking. You can definitely see sweat after 20 min on the lighter fabrics which makes it a little awkward if you're not wearing a shirt that covers it

IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR SHORTS LIKE THIS FOR FOREVER. They length is perfect. I love how it doesn't slip as much as the grove shorts do. They look soooooooo good on. They look kind of strange not on but when you put them on they make your legs look nice and skinny and long (heart eyes)!! I am only going to buy this style from now on!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by vj15 amazing shorts..but, needs one tweak.
I bought these at the SeaWheeze expo this summer. I had never looked at them, as I've always run in speed shorts. These were a pleasant surprise. The size 4 offered great compression, but the leg holes are so tight that they made my legs bulge. The size 6 was a better fit in the legs, but a little looser in the waist. I compromised by tightening the draw string a bit. These stayed put throughout the race and are so smooth and comfortable. Although the fabric is awesome, there is one thing I would love to see changed- the pocket. While it is secure for my iPhone 6, for long runs I do get REALLY sweaty, and if it weren't for the fact I had wrapped my phone in a small plastic bag before the race, it would've gotten soaked. If you could make these with a block it pocket, that would be aweomse!! For sizing reference, I'm 5'4 and about 125 lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by marathonrunningdoc great for sweaty workouts and long runs
I love all things with side pockets at the hips. That being said, these shorts are great. I take these things on long runs and am able to fit my iPhone 6 in the side pockets in addition to gels. Once these shorts came out I no longer had to wait for winter time to wear my phone on my hip while running! I have relatively large inner thighs and the legs ride up just a little but they do not cut into my thighs or rub or chafe in this area. I find that wearing tight shorts is much better for extremely sweaty humid runs (looser shorts, i.e., speed shorts, once completely soaked, start to chafe). Also these shorts don't have a zipper in the back which allows me to wear these while doing crunches.
I think these are TTS. I have narrow hips/butt and big thighs and wear these to fit my hips/waist, which is usually a size 2.

I love these running shorts. It is so hard to find running clothes with pockets. I alway carry my phone for safety, keys, and gels. It is great to have shorts that stay put, and have pockets. The shorts never ride up, and my thighs do not chafe. LOVE them. Please do not quit making these.
