Tracker Short II *4-way Stretch
Waistband problem strikes again!
I just purchased these shorts and this is the second time I have had problems with the waistband. It is awful, lulu seriously needs to figure out this problem. The plastic on the sides cuts into my hips, making the shorts literally unusable. When I called to return this item the customer service rep. was very nice and helpful... however you have lost a faithful customer of tracker shorts due to the waistband issue. Disappointing.

I own a pair of the Trackers in the 2-way stretch and I loved it. I saw the gorgeous split pea color and instantly purchased it online. When I tried it on, the fit was all wrong for me. The stretchy, loose fit of the shorts hugged my bottom awkwardly and didn't give it that nice structured, tapered look like the 2-way does. On the model it looks really nice and the material flows nicely over her butt. Also, the split pea color doesn't seem true to color in person; online it looked like a brilliant yellow but in person kind of seemed dull. Unfortunately, I returned it at a local Lulu store and will be sticking to the 2-way stretch from now on. I was so confident it was going to look great too, guess not! It's weird though because I absolutely adore the Speed Shorts in the 4-way, guess it's just the style and the cut. Don't let me deter you from getting these shorts though, it could be meant for you.

I loved these shorts when I first bought them, but after a few weeks the waistband started to unravel and the thread began to poke me and soon I developed scratches and no longer could wear the shorts. This is my second pair of tracker shorts that I've had the same issue with. As a college student I prefer to buy clothes that I know will last awhile, but for $54 is a little ridiculous due to the fact I no longer can wear them.

One of my favorites
I've purchased several pairs of these and I really like them for my more "athletic" legs. Nice length, I've never had a problem with the waistband poking. However, I have one pair I bought late summer that the waist band is starting to bunch and roll oddly. It has nothing to do with the drawstring so I'm not sure what the culprit is. I can still wear them but they aren't as comfortable, so this really bums me out for a $60 pair of shorts. The pattern isn't available any longer and I particularly like it so I'm not sure what to do with them.

Love these shorts!
I just bought the coal swirl, black shorts. I love them. I did not find any issues with the waist band. They are so comfy. I just did a x train class and they were great. No hiking, bunching, pulling, nothing. I would like to see more colors in the 4 Way stretch though. I wear a size 4, and these fit fine. Looser fitting though.

These are by far my absolute favorite shorts that I own! The 4 way fabric has the right about of give in all directions. These are my go to shorts for running, CrossFitting, squatting, or just running errands.

athletic yet fashionable
Awesome pair of shorts!!! Can't wait for new styles for spring and summer!! I love these shorts they are so versatile i'm able to wear them when I work out, run and teach. I teach Phys Ed. so I am able to get away with wearing a nice athletic pair of shorts.

DIDN'T FIGURE IT OUT!!!
I have had these shorts for a while now and never felt compelled to write a review about them until I read the one from the Messiah-I mean the person claiming to have "figured out" the pokey things.
For reference, I am 5'6", 150 pounds, always a size 8 in lulu bottoms. I like the compression better of some size 6 running pants but I don't need the world to see my butt through those too sheer fabrics.
Personally, I haven't experienced the pokey things, but I am going to go out on a limb here and say don't size up just to make up for Lulu's poor quality! I have these shorts in an 8 and I find that they are kinda baggy in the crotch (see the pic-I'm not packing). This problem would only be worsened by sizing up.
My problem with the fit is that it seems the waistband is smaller than the fabric it attaches to, if that makes sense, causing the bagginess. If you wear a longer shirt it isn't noticeable though.
I don't like to run in most running shorts because I have big soccer player thighs that sometimes chaffe when I run. These are a bit longer than the Speeds so I don't have that problem, but that said I would not recommend a long sweaty run with these. I went on training run for my first ultra and after about 12 miles the fabric had wrinkled and started to rise up, causing the unbearable chaffing. I ended up waddling home!
These shorts are fine for lifting; the four-way stretch makes for unrestricted squatting and cleaning. They are fine for shorter, faster runs. And they look cute (minus the saggy crotch!). But for $54 they aren't anything special.
I do like how they don't have the underwear showing gap that the Speed shorts have though, but again for the price I'd expect that.
Anyway, my advice is to stick with your usual size. Your pants shouldn't be out to stab you or make you feel like you've put on weight!

I FIGURED IT OUT
I have figured out the pokey things every person who comments complains about.
I have at least 10 pairs of these shorts and the 2-way stretch. I live in these shorts, they are amazing and wonderful and love everything about them.
Then I got really sick and stopped working out for at least a month, when I put on my trusted shorts, I finally felt the mysterious pokey things everyone had complained about. I thought everyone was NUTS but figured it out.
I had GAINED WEIGHT AND NOW I FELT THE POKEY THINGS.
When I lost the weight, they fit me perfectly again.
GO UP A SIZE. It's just a number. It does not define you. These shorts fit better a size bigger. It's not worth the price of these shorts if you are too concerned about the number you buy.
Go up one size = no pokey things
If pokey things appear = you are now a bigger size
The pokey things occur when you literally stretch the fabric so much that the elastic is coming out of it, that is not a good fit.

I also have experienced the issue with the waistband having threads that poke me in the waist. It has made my workouts miserable. I've returned the shorts and am waiting for a credit but by gosh, when are you going to figure out what is causing this and correct it? I am anxious to buy a new pair, but don't want the same hassle.
