Rated 4 out of 5 by Mixed Emotions. I use this towel for hot yoga and it does the job. For a relatively thin towel, it adequately absorbs the moisture from a 60-minute session that leaves my mat dry. It definitely does not keep still (which doesn't bother me much) and has a tendency of having a slippery grip once it becomes saturated in moisture. However, the slipperiness has not been severe enough to hinder my practice. I do not have to readjust the towel during every session, but it is occasionally needed. A plus about the towel is the suede-like surface, which just feels nice to touch. I will admit, I do not carefully maintain my Lulu products as I'm usually advised to do so by the associates at the store. I'm not sure if it's because my washer/dryer are high efficiency, but I never had an issue throwing this towel (and other products) in the dryer. I put it in the hand-wash cycle to clean and in the "warm" setting to dry. I haven't noticed any shrinking and if it has, it hasn't been significant enough for me to notice. Overall, the towel has it's pros and cons. After putting this product to use for 5 months of hot yoga, I would recommend it for my casual yogis who are not picky about the downsides (moves around & slipperiness) and just want a cute towel. Rated 3 out of 5 by Beware - towel shrinks even if you hang dry I received this towel as a gift. When I unfolded the towel for the first time and laid it down on my mat, it was a larger (length and width) than the mat. It was thin and had a slight suede feel to it. I was worried that it would be slippery but the sweat on my palms gave me enough grip. I wouldn't say that I sweat buckets but I do sweat quite a bit during class and I didn't have a problem with the towel moving around or that I slipped during downward dog. Overall the towel was fine for me. Where I did have a problem was after washing the towel. I washed in cold and I did not put it in the dryer .. The next time I put the towel down, it was noticeably shorter than my mat by a few inches. but buyers beware .. Towel shrinks if you hang dry it. im not happy about it but I'm stuck with a towel that is smaller than my mat now. November 18, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by OK towel I use The Towel for hot yoga and one thing that it does and does well, is absorbs moisture. I also use it to help protect my mat, but since it's rather thin, it has a tendency to move around a bit. When the towel gets soaked in sweat, it becomes a bit more slippery. I have a hard time holding a few positions because of that. The one thing that bothers me the most is that it shrank in length, despite that it has NEVER seen the inside of a dryer. October 21, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Moves a lot in hot yoga classes I normally use yogitoes towels, but decided to give this mat towel a try because the prints are adorable and they are lightweight. Like many other reviewers, in my hot yoga classes this towels sticks to damp feet and turns into a disheveled mess at the back of my mat as I move from one position to another. It's not a matter of concentration; it's a matter of discomfort! I tried to stick it out because I adore the cactus print that I ordered, but this towel is just not functional. It's a shame that lululemon is now only offering their house brand towel as the only option, otherwise I would happily purchase my yogitoes towels there. September 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Don't put in the dryer and you'll be fine I purchased two of these towels for hot yoga class. The first use they were awesome. Then, I had one I hung up to dry after washing, and was in a hurry so I put the other one in the dyer. I found the one I put in the dryer moved a lot during class. The one that air dried barely budged. So if you can, hang dry and you shouldn't have any problems. September 14, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by The Towel aka "a very expensive piece of cloth" Why is it every time a company first introduces an amazing product it always has to change it? When I bought my first Lulu The Towel the material was super soft and never slid on my mat. Now all it does is constantly move whenever I am in any pose. So annoying! Super bummed on this purchase. Rated 5 out of 5 by Works Great! So, I don't necessarily use this towel for yoga, but instead I use it as a travel towel. It definitely does it's job! It will wick the water right off of your skin. I love it so much that I am going to buy The (Small) Towel just so I can take it to the gym to wipe my brow in between lifting sets (this one is just way to big for that sort of thing). Definitely recommend! August 20, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mat Towel I've used this mat only 4 times thus far in hot and power classes and I can honestly say I have zero complaints! I read reviews prior to purchase, with the intention to most likely return it based on the complaints made in other reviews. I'm not sure how you could find issue with this product, most reviews stated it was "too slippery" or "it moved around and I spent the whole class adjusting it"....if you're focused in your practice, working hard to sweat it out, and not concerned with the odd wrinkle, it's absolutely adequate. Love this product! :) August 18, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Meh- Good concept that could use some updates I bought this towel to throw over The Mat for hot yoga class, and I like it but I sometimes get annoyed when it constantly moves. I wish there was something that would hold it to the mat so I wouldn't slip all over the place. Other than that, it does what it needs to do. It's soft and lightweight and soaks up all of my sweat. I don't have to worry about slipping with either the towel or the mat. August 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by YAY!! I'm disappointed in myself for holding off for this long to buy a towel from Lulu. My only exercise is hot yoga in which a mat towel is an essential piece in my practice. I've purchased my towels from places like Winners where they are under $20 and though they weren't amazing, I learnt to put up with them because of the cheaper price. My biggest complaint with my other towels were that I would slip and slide when I would get into the first downward dog of the class because the towel was dry and my hands were dry, I needed to almost get my hands wet in order to stay in place and during the warrior sequence my feet would tend to slide apart from each other. Despite the mixed reviews for this towel, I decided to take the chance with the towel considering a super cute pattern came out. haha I finally tried it last night in yoga and I was blown away at how nice it was. The texture on the top of the mat, though still soft was extremely gripping for my hands for my first downward pose. I felt like I could finally do a full extension of pushing my hands and feet away from each other without slipping and almost falling on my face. My next usual issue is the towel would sometimes wrinkle and bunch up with small movements and I would have to constantly readjust it or flatten out the wrinkles and folds due to the lightness of the towel. I noticed the Lulu towel is almost of a crisp material under the soft layer, the best way I can explain it, which in my opinion helps keep the towel more in place without wrinkling with such ease. Not sure if that makes sense. By the time my class was almost over and I had sweated buckets onto it, I couldn't help but feel so cozy on the towel. Though it is the thinnest towel I own it gave such cushion and comfort underneath me, I felt secure in my poses and overall loved the absorbent qualities for sweat. I also love the size, large enough to give you space but nothing overwhelming. Yes the towel isn't perfect, perhaps it wrinkled once or I slide a tiny bit, but to be expected, its a huge step up beyond any towel I've ever used, completely worth the money. The patterns are now a bonus in which my mat stands out among the rest =) I'll be only buying these towels for now on, bring on the fun patterns! =) August 12, 2015
