The Pure Mat 3mm
heavy and super thin
I bought this mat after the LLL employee recommended it in the store. I really wish i could have opened it there as i must say, i am not at all impressed with it. the mat is SO heavy yet SO thin! it is like being right on the hard floor but you have an extra 5lbs to carry in your gym bag. i teach a yoga class and constantly am having to tug on it as it slips all over/bunches up, fold it to get some type of padding under hands/knees and even flip it over half way through class because it has got sweaty and dangerously slipery!
i cant think of where/when i would even use this...back to the search for my perfect mat :(

3mm Pure Mat
As a new-comer to yoga I was hesitant about buying an expensive mat, and settled for a cheap one which was horrible. So I did some research and found this one! I was actually going to buy "The Mat" but it was out of stock so I just got this one on a whim and seriously best decision ever! As other reviews say, it does smell quite a bit but airing it out for a few days helps a lot. I really love the variety of colors! They are heavier then you would expect but it's not overly noticeable. I do Hatha twice a week and one downside is that it is so grippey you almost have to peel yourself off of it to switch positions, but that's not much of a downside! It was a bit stretchy, but for a less vigorous practice I found it super great and worth the money!

Slippery when wet
I bought this mat for my boyfriend because we started taking Bikram's hot yoga class. I talked to a few people at the store when we where buying the mat, and told them we took Bikrams yoga, so he needed a mat and towel. They had recommended this one. This mat does not dry properly, it doesn't soak up any of the sweat, and is just overall horrible for hot yoga. If you plan on using this mat for hot yoga, DON'T, buy something different. I wish i had looked at the reviews before buying, now we are going to have to buy another mat elsewhere.

never again this Mat
I bought second one :-( bcs I was hoping that Lulu maybe changed quality of this product after many people wrote that it is really slippery and unfortunatelly is it exactly the same like this first what I bought.
It remind me a lot this very cheap Mat what you can buy in India for around 3 dollars.
Now I have two absolutely unusefull Mats :-(
I tried it yesterday for Hatha class and I almost feld down in Down dog on my face, Lulu really bad one! About cleaning this Mat I will not even write here, no way...
I love your clothes but Pure Mat never ever....

Regretting this purchase
I bought this mat as my old Align mat (I think that's what it was called) is on its last leg, I was hoping this one would be a good comparison...NOT.
I do Bikram yoga, as well as teach, and found this mat awful for this practice, it wouldn't stay in place, kept bunching up, and not much cushion.
I would not recommend this mat to anyone. I've dug out my 'old' mat (can't say enough positive things about this one) again, thankfully I hadn't thrown it out!

I was reading the reviews, and a lot of people say this mat slips a lot. It hasn't slipped on me at all, and i do both vinyasa flow and hot sculpt classes on hardwood floors with it! I love it! It's nice and grippy and works well with The Towel, too. I'd definitely recommend it.

Misleading - Not a good mat
I was happy to be helped in the store by lululemon employees and was led to believe that this mat is the right one for me.
I had said that I ALWAYS use "the towel" on top of any mat I use, and was told that that would be the perfect combination with this Mat.
I was very excited to use it, as it was my first lululemon mat (I have used and really like their apparel).
The mat does not work well with the towel.. the towel slips on top of it. and the mat itself slips on the floor. Won't be using it, feels like I wasted money and the mat now sits there with no use. I don't know if I should even try another lululemon mat (The Mat seems to be the most popular one) yet, I am not ready to be mislead again.
Why proclaim it is non-slip when in fact it is very slippery on hardwood floors; knowing that most yoga studios have them.

Great mat if you're not on hard wood floors. The sales lady at lulu told me that it would be fine for me, but once I used it once I knew it was way too thin. I was a little disappointed that even though I only used it once I wasn't able to exchange it for the thicker version. Now I am stuck with it so hopefully I will find use for it on grass or something of the sort.

Fantastic for Travel
I purchased this mat to travel abroad with, and I have absolutely no complaints. In fact, it's one of the best mats I've used, besides really heavy-duty ones. It grips well to the floor and my hands, especially the more I use it. I don't find my wrists to be sore, as I do with most mats. It rolls up very well for storage. My suitcase dimensions weren't large enough in order to roll it, so instead I folded it. It was not damaged, nor did it keep any creases (my suitcase was beat around pretty badly). I do find it a bit slippery when I sweat (I like to practice after running sometimes), so I would not say that this is a mat for hot yoga.

Stretchy, Slippery- even with a towel mat!
I bought this mat when my old, non Lulu mat became overused and flat. I primarily do hot yoga, and thought a mat that was too thick would make me unstable. Also, this mat came in a bunch of different attractive colors. I religiously use my lulu towel mat over my regular yoga mat, and thought "these would make a great combo!"
BOY WAS I WRONG, the mat is extremely stretchy and has little to no grip on hardwood flooring. It slips and slides in each pose during my hot yoga classes. I can't hold warrior one or two without having to stop and readjust because my feet are sliding apart! In addition to slipping on the floor, the towel mat slips over the top of it. It stretches and slips in downward dog, when jumping back during sun salutations, and even when holding plank! I literally cant do hot yoga on this mat, and now I am out $50. ): As a college student, this was a big splurge- I could have just gotten a $10 mat from my studio and it probably would have worked better. AND its floppy during to-and-from.
However, I do think another Lulu mat would have worked better. People in my studio swear by The Mat. I wish I could have gotten some help in-store when I was looking for a mat, I probably would have spent the extra 20 dollars to get one that works for me. Lulu, why do you make other mats if The Mat seems to be perfect for every yogi? #mislead #needanewmat #help
