I love this mat. I have had several different brands before this one. The only thing I have a problem with is its a bright pink mat that cannot be cleaned properly. A few times makeup has got on it and cannot be removed after trying several times. I am torn about buying another mat but black. This is the best mat for hot yoga by far, never slip just wish I could clean it. It looks dirty all the time.

I love The Mat. The thickness is perfect and the anti - slip WAS good until I used a mat cleaner that had an essential oil in it and now the anti - slip isn't so much. Any suggestions on how to possibly get some of the grip back??? Also as one previous commented the rubber smell is still pretty strong and I have had my mat way over a year now and use it at least 2 to 3 times a week.

I have been using my lululemon mat for the past year and half and is the best mat i have ever owned. The only time it has been really sweaty was after a tow hour yoga class, but overall a great mat. When i sweats since i have the turquoise color

Love the Mat!
I practice yoga 2-3 times a week and I love this mat! I was skeptical when the lady at the store said it gets "stickier" as you sweat, but no matter how sweaty I get, my hands and feet don't slip on this mat. I've seen some people use a mat towel for hot yoga, but no need with this mat! There is a very intense rubber smell when you first get it, but it has gotten better as the weeks go by. For cleaning, I just wipe it down with warm, soapy water and rinse it off in the shower and hang it up to dry.

Stuck together and ripped top layer!
I bought this mat a couple weeks ago. after use I let it dry and then rolled it back up. when i went to unroll it after my 3-4 use the plastic on the top has stuck to the parts it was touching and when I pulled it part it ripped off the top layer!!! No where did it say I could not roll up the mat or that it would stick together! Shouldn't I be able to roll up this mat like any other yoga mat?!? I hope this can be exchanged!!

I love it! What is everyone complaining about??
I have owned a Jade Mat, Manduka Eko, and a Manduka Pro Lite. Although Manduka Pro mats are super durable, my hands slip all over the place. Even after lots of scrubbing and use. I even slipped on a Manduka Eko. Jade mats are great, but I didn't enjoy the surface. It felt a little rough to me. Lulu has created a great mat! Yes it does scuff and stain, but I haven't had as much of a problem as everyone else seems to have. I wipe it down with the Manduka mat wash (non-vinegar version) after every class and air to dry AS SOON as I get home. For a super sweaty class I'll use The Mat with a towel. I love this thing! It's thick and sticky! I did use it once without a towel in a super sweaty class and it was great, but it kind of grossed me out just laying there in my own sweat, so now I use a towel for heated power flows. But, I LOVE this mat for a regular Vinyasa. I own this Mat in two colors. I gave away my Manduka Eko last week! LOL. Also, I think the price is very reasonable. All other comparable mats are also @ this price point.

Scratches and scuffs soooooooo easily
Love the thickness and generous length of the mat BUT it scuffs and scratches so easily! If I slide my foot or hand across the mat it will scuff. If I wipe it down with a damp soft towel, it will scratch. Had it for a month and only practice 1-3x's/week and looks like I've had it for years! What's the deal with how fragile the surface of this mat is? BTW I have it in Black as I thought scratches and scuffs wouldn't be as noticeable BUT the scratches and scuffs show as WHITE so it still is very noticeable!

I have had this mat for about a month now. I practice hot yoga 5 times a week and laterly i feel the mat is losing its grip especially when it got wet. Also, the mat takes a very long time to dry and leaves water stains and scratch marks from wiping.

Good stickiness, but high maintenance!
Sooo...I have a love/hate relationship with this mat. I initially got it in purple, which was gorgeous, but I only had it for a day when it got oil stains (I use coconut oil in my hair and this mat is VERY absorbent). I tried everything to get the oil out to no avail, so I called my local store and they said I could exchange it for a black one. That was nice of them. The black one is better b/c you can't see the stains as much, but it still stains from every little thing (forehead/nose oil, etc), and easily scuffs. I've practiced every day since getting this mat (I've had it for a week) and it's pretty sticky and keeps my feet and hands from slipping, but it's covered in scuffs and marks after such a short time! For the price, I'd think it wouldn't be so high maintenance and I clean it after every use, but the stains/scuffs just don't come out. I actually just folded it over to avoid stepping on it, and the two pieces stuck together and even THAT left a mark! Also, although I wasn't slipping, when I'm in a harder pose that puts more pressure on my foot or hand, it seems to dig into the mat (stretching it somewhat), which may cause it to rip over time. Oh another thing, while it's thick, some poses with your knee down are still kind of painful (but i also have bony knees so it could just be me). Overall, I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars - it does the job, but it's so delicate and it seems like everything I do messes it up because it picks up everything!

3 years later and the smell won't go away
When I bought this mat, I was really skeptical of the thick, rubbery smell on the mat. I was assured that it would fade within a few uses. They even say "natural rubber has a slight smell, but don't worry, it fades over time (we suggest you roll it out to air it out between practices):.
That smell is anything but slight. I've had my mat for 3 years now, have aired it out after EVERY practice and have cleaned it with lemon, baking soda...everything under the sun but nothing has removed that horrible rubbery smell. The worst part is that when I practice, I smell like the rubber. I tried to love this mat because I wanted to love a $70 mat but I give up. I've taken to borrowing studio mats because I just won't use this anymore.
