My mat tore :(
I have had a Lululemon 'The Mat' for 7+ years and felt it was time to retire the old one. I purchased a new blue one with hopes of it lasting me another 7+ years. The first class was great. My mat was sticky enough for my hot yoga classes (felt even stickier than I remember my last mat being) that I didn't need a towel. Unfortunately, when I rolled out my mat for my second class, the sticky top coat stuck to itself and tore! I'm so disappointed and didn't even save the receipt since I never dreamed of having to return it.

Best Hot Yoga Mat
I purchased this mat a month ago when I began doing hot yoga. It was recommended to me by a woman at my studio and I love it! I do hot yoga 5-6 times a week and with this mat I do not need a mat towel, I actually prefer to use it without one. The woman who recommended it to me (and after reading reviews online as well) warned about the smell at the beginning and sweat marks, so I decided to get the black mat. After every class, I wipe my mat down using cleaner they provide at my studio and once I'm home, I hang it over my railing upstairs to air it out. The mat did have a bit of a smell at first, but it's rubber so that's expected. After a solid month of using it, the smell is gone and the sweat marks disappear once hung to air out. As for scuff marks mentioned in recent reviews, I've noticed some, but to me that is to be expected for anything that is getting this much use. This mat doesn't slide or slip, it provides a great base for balancing positions, and I really couldn't be happier with it. I have no regrets purchasing this mat, it is worth every penny!

I wanted to love this but....
I'm a firm believer in 'You get what you pay for" whether it may be running shoes, clothing, furniture, etc, and in my experience that has always been the case..up until the other day.
I asked my husband to get me a yoga mat after I completed a personal yoga challenge of completing 20 consecutive yoga classes (beginner and hot yoga), after I knocked my challenge out of the park I thought "I'm ready for a great mat, something that is going to help me ease into my practice and look forward to my final savasana, but this mat quality has truly disappointed me.
After my hot yoga class my hands and clothes were stained from the bright pink, my black pants had rubbed off color on my mat (and I'm not even sure how because I've had them for years and they have never done that), and there are scratch like marks from a gentle at home meditative practice.
I've shopped with Lululemon for a while now, and everything I've gotten thus far has been great and I expect quality materials, especially when my husband is shelling out over $70 for something I genuinely use regularly.
Lululemon, I'm disappointed and returning my mat.

Smelly and Scuffs Very Easily
For the amount I paid for this mat I have to say Im pretty disappointed. I have had this mat for 1 year. I used it last year around this time after I bought it for maybe 12 times max. I just got back into yoga again. My mat still smells and it has a few scuffs/scratches. I guess Im disappointed bc I feel likes its brand new and its scruffy and why does it still smell so bad. And the 12 classes that I have done has been gentle yoga, hate to see how it would hold up to Hot or Power Yoga.

Good mat, not long lasting
I bought my first Lulu mat mid November of 2014 and by March of 2015, the mat was wearing out and I was slipping on it. I brought it into a Lulu store, and they assured me this should not be happening and exchanged it right away. I could immediately tell the difference from the old, slipping mat, to the new mat. (I was practicing more confidently) I am curious to see how this new mat will wear come June/July of this year. If it is still worn down, and I find myself slipping, I will have to bring it into a store for a recommendation.
My first logical thought is, just like running shoes that only last for so many miles, maybe yoga mats are supposed to only last for so many poses? Thanks!

Stains stains stains
I bought the pink/purple color mat and used it for the first time today. I noticed a lot of stains after class and tried to wipe it with sanitizing wipes. IT DID NOT WORK AT ALL. I am disappointed that the mat does not hold up to sweat at all. I bought it through Lululemon.com and would like to be refunded for the poor quality mat.

I liked this mat a lot at first, but within a month it was stained and the texture had gone weird. It is sort of dried out and shriveling in some areas and smoothed out and lost its grip in others. I don't think i would ever repurchase

I bought this yoga mat because I have heard good things about it but after several uses, the corner of the mat is peeling off! Beware also, I got the light colored one and leaves stains esp after I wiped down after every use. I can't believe I spent so much money on it and now too embarrassed to use it at class due to the stains. I'm definitely not happy with my purchase so I would not recommend it to my friends. Had better expectations with the product but it just disappointed me.

I would never buy another mat
I bought my first mat about 4 months ago. I was a little put off buy the price because I was new to yoga (I mean you can buy one at target for $30 right whats the difference?). But the differences is amazing. I never worry about falling or being slippery. I had a small problem with my matt, so I took it into the store to see how I could better clean it, and they changed it out for me no questions. I don't usually write reviews but this product is amazing. I recommend it for everyone.

Best mat for daily practice
I love love love this mat. Before purchasing, I used it several times at the studio where I belong. I finally made the decision to buy one of my own today and I have been using it all afternoon.
There is no sliding or slipping with this mat. You feel very stable and in complete control of your practice. I would definitely recommend this to an avid yogi looking for a better mat in order to achieve a better practice.
