Happy little tree!
I took about 3 months to decide to purchase this mat and am so happy with my decision!!! I am 5'11'' and love my sweaty vinyasa classes - this mat so far has held up to its reputation. No need for a towel anymore - thank you - and the cushioning is awesome!
I do have a few qualms, but they are easy to fix Lulu :) 1 - I need a bag for this beast! 2 - more colors please - green, purple, blue? 3 - I know you can do nothing about this without effecting the integrity of the mat - but the smell is pretty powerful - not an issue long enough to cause me to go to any other mat though!
Overall thank you for making a longer mat! I feel like I am on a stage when I practice! Love!

Finally.
So, let me start out by saying, I have "The Mat" and it was awesome-its just that I am not the typical body type that I see at lulu :) I love it, but I am also 5'9 and 230lbs-length wise "The Mat" was fine, and even width, but sometimes I wanted to spread my hands out further etc. and would have to readjust. With the big mat, I no longer readjust, can focus more on my placement and form. I LOVE it. In addition to yoga, I use one in my home gym for stretching and sometimes during Insanity workouts-and this mat completely handles the sweat! A knock out of the park lulu.
I have severe back and knee problems and this mat is PERFECT in regards to cushioning. In classes where I am the heaviest there, its nice to have the confidence that this mat provides in getting deeper into my poses :)
Con- and its totally superficial, is the color. I know that the lighter mats tend to stain-but a deep purple or something would be great.
The Big Mat is also heavy (obviously) but for practice at home, I dont care. if you are on the edge about it, Id go for it :D

a sizable improvement
i originally purchased the regular size The Mat, and found it to be too small. i used it for a while just to be sure, and even though i loved how grippy it is, i felt constrained by the parameters. i'm 6'1" and weight 215 lbs - not a small guy by any means.
i went to return it (even though i didn't want to) and Lulu took it back with absolutely no hassle - this is one of the reasons i keep coming back to Lulu :)
after explaining my problem to a sales associate, she took me straight over to the Big Mat. problem solved! now i have the mat that i love in the size that i need.

big mat for big yogi
being both a bit large and tall (6'3") practicing yoga was always a bit of a challenge on a normal mat. certain postures required me to adjust forward or backward on the mat, especially when the pace picked up, and in corpse my hands, feet and often head would be off the mat or in that awkward position straddling between the mat and the floor. now i have room to spare...can't imagine ever using a normal mat again.
not only does the big mat fit me, but it's super comfy and grippy. good sweat absorption, which is important since i tend to sweat...a lot...and often. good thing the mat is black.
the mat is quite heavy but considering how much better my practice is that doesn't really matter. hopefully you guys release big versions of your other mats! (big un mat please!)
