Manduka Equa Towel (LG)

Don't sweat the small stuff. Save it for yoga class.

why we made this

In some of our sweatier yoga classes, we find that our Downward Dog can unintentionally slip into Plank pose without a transitional Vinyasa in between. We prevent the pose slip with the Manduka Equal Towel, an absorbent, quick drying layer on top of our yoga mat to keep sweaty hands and feet in place.

key features

  • absorbent and quick drying for your sweatiest class
  • slip resistant so you don't involuntarily do the splits
  • micro-fiber provides an ultra-soft layer between you and your mat

Manduka Equa Towel (LG) 4.2 5 82 85
Great Towel I bought this towel AFTER having tried the skidless towel for Bikram YOGA... WAY better... this towel was great at absorbing a lot of sweat and it stayed put on "The MAT" way better than the skidless towel. If you are doing hot yoga... this is the one! February 7, 2012
Manduka Towel I have purchased other towels before - 2 of the skid-less variety for hot yoga - and this one trumps them by far. I never really found the little rubber bumps on the bottom to add much grip and then really cut back on the true multi-use nature of this towel. This one is big enough for your yoga mat, perfect for lying on a lounger at your yoga resort and can be wrapped around you as a blanket in savasana. I lie mine on my yoga mat in hot yoga and once you get a little bit of moisture on your palms and feet, the mat does not move and the absorbency is better. December 21, 2011
Great product but gets slippery with time. I have purchased two equate towels. I love how easy they are to clean after a sweaty yoga session and find my hands never slide in downward dog. However, as a yoga instructor I am on my mat every day. I wash them regularly and hang dry, but after approximately one months use both towels became very worn and slippery at the bottom where my feet spend the most amount of time. To coutneract this, I have begun folding the towel up so that my feet are directly on my mat and my hands and knees are still on the towel. This works well but leads to bunching of the towel. I love these towels and find them to be an essential part of my yoga practice, but I think they could be improved by adding grips where the feet are planted in downward dogs, planks, warriors, etc. December 20, 2011
best towel EVER This is my first towel so I can't compare it to similar products but I LOVE IT!!! I use it with my lululemon UnMat (which is a fantastic because unfortunately I slip like crazy on that mat without a towel) during hot yoga. Going from using a regular bath towel to this is incredible. It is the same length as my yoga mat and allows me to have complete control on poses that require a large portion of the mat. I get extremely sweaty during hot yoga and the more I sweat the better job this towel does at keeping me in place. I am so relieved to have something to keep me in place and so excited to continue doing hot yoga with this towel under me. Well done lulu! December 11, 2011
Would love to be able to return it! I was excited to get this towel but was extremely disappointed after using it a couple of times. It wasn't functional for yoga at all, the towel kept moving around under my feet and was actually more of a hazard than a help. I ended up donating after using it one time. November 14, 2011
best towel! I am in LOVE with this towel. I have used it in vinyasa, hot flow, and bikram classes and it has worked wunders. I definatly recomend following the tip of sprinkeling the towel with water before a vinyasa class to get a bit more grip before things get sweaty, I found this really helpful. It is very absorbant and has gone through the wash 100's of times and has not faded, pilled, or warped... as I said LOOOVEE it. October 20, 2011
Almost Perfect I have been doing bikram hot yoga for a few months now and have been wanting a towel, but wasn't willing to pay $65 (skidless) or even $40 for the manduka. Finally, the manduka went on sale and I snagged one up in the dewberry (beautiful color). I was very pleased with it during the practice. It covered my mat entirely and I didn't have to adjust it once. It soaked up my sweat and kept me from slipping. My only issue with it is that the dye leaks. I rinsed it out after class and could see the dye running off of it, which was a little disappointing. So my final thoughts: great towel, just make sure to wash it separately to avoid dying your clothes. September 30, 2011
Exclusive colors only at Lulu I prefer the eQua towels over the skidless towels with the Manduka black mat. They are super absorbent and don't bunch up during my hot yoga practice. They do seem to perform better on the Manduka mats than other sticky mats. The hand towels are perfect for wiping off in hot yoga. I love the exclusive colors that Manduka makes only for Lululemon! I would LOVE to see Lulu offer the hand towels in the same colors. How about it Lulu? September 27, 2011
Best Towel Ever!!! I'm a huge fan of lulu clothing, but never really branched out in the accessories. That was until I saw this towel on sale on line. I recently started doing bikram regularly and my old beach towels just weren't doing it for me. So since this towel was on sale I decided I might as well try it. When I pulled it out of the bag it was so soft I figured there was no way I wouldn't slip on this towel. It just didn't seem like it would be a good bikram towel. Boy, was I wrong! It is by the far the most amazing towel I have ever had. There is no slipping (I think its because my feet get pretty sweaty and the towel becomes more slip resistant when its damp) and very minimal bunching. Its so soft and it dries pretty quickly. I highly recommend it for bikram classes!!! I just wish it came in more colors! September 23, 2011
Surprisingly good! When I unpacked this towel this morning I didn't have high hopes for it as it looked like a flannel sheet would do a better job! Boy was I surprised when I got halfway through my Bikram class. This towel is huge and provides coverage beyond the mat. Super soft which would make one think that it would be slippery but this is not the case. It held the test of the triangle pose (I had originally thought I'd end up in a split when I unpacked the towel in the morning). Minimal bunching, really only during standing head to knee pose. Super-absorbent! A great towel. I would buy another in a different colour. September 20, 2011
