why we made this

We made these shorts to keep us feeling comfortable and cool on training runs and on race day. The lightweight Swift fabric is moisture-wicking and the soft Luxtreme waistband and continuous drawcord ensure a proper fit so we can streak past our personal records. Ándale!

Comfort for all activities I bought these shorts almost a week ago and have worn them 3 times, although I'm not much of a runner. They are super comfortable . I was afraid they would be too short and I almost didn't even try them on in the store. I love the way lulu makes them longer in the back so I don't feel uncomfortable while at the gym. They'll even be great to throw on to run to the grocery store as well when it's so hot in the summer! Very happy about this purchase. May 16, 2013
not to my liking I wanted to love these so bad but they just didn't work for me. I tried them on in the store because they are adorable but with big hips and thighs.. not to mention a butt these shorts looked liked a swimsuit in my normal 8 and oddly baggy and falling off in a ten. Also, the front ride on me was a little low. I'm 5'4 with a long torso.Now to be fair I have a hard time finding shorts but when I do I buy five! May 16, 2013
Lululemon symbol fell off during first wear I bought the new speed shorts with the colors black, purple, light blue, and floral this weekend. I love how they fit compared to the last few I bought. This pair seemed much more like the old pairs I have in terms of fit and sizing. However, I am really disappointed that before I even wore them for three hours, the Lululemon symbol had fallen off. My friend picked it up and handed it to me. I do not think the symbol should fall off even before the first day of wear. It may seem trivial, but it still reflects on how well the product is made and taken care of before it is purchased. I do agree with other reviewers that the clothes are way too expensive to be lacking in quality. May 13, 2013
My favourite pair of Lulu shorts! I've just bought my second pair of these shorts and I honestly can't get enough of them! I'm definitely a gym-goer and these are my go to shorts. I'm used to wearing boogie shorts and I find that these shorts give you more flexibility without worrying about your butt falling out (thanks to the inner liner- which I find isn't a nuisance like you would expect). I went safe the first time and went to a LLL store to purchase a plain black pair (which can match with anything!). I've loved them ever since. I have been waiting for a new style to come out in black with a nice waistband design and AH-HA! The new black/power purple ones came out! I read on the other reviews that a lot of people were unimpressed with the fit/material but I can say that I made an impulse online purchase to get them and I'm glad I did. I have an athletic build, I'm around 5"3, 140 lbs and I wear a size 4 in all my LLL products and this fits just right for me. It keeps everything in tact (especially when doing my squats). Someday I hope to own many, many more of these shorts! I highly recommended going to the store and finding the right sheerness, fit and size for you instead of all you hesitant people ordering online and not getting what you want. For me, I took my chance and I love them! Can't wait for another cute pair to come out :) May 13, 2013
All-purpose shorts These shorts weren't my cup of tea for running because the short length moves around a bit around the inner thighs. But, I expect to wear them all the time for biking, tennis, and gardening this summer. May 12, 2013
Great for stong booties I was a DI runner in college and received plenty of spandex shorts to train and compete in. Surprisingly, those sorts did not fit muscular thighs an booties very well. All of them sausaged my thighs, or would ride up to reveal my booty. In these shorts, im not constantly pulling and tugging them back in to place, and the elastic doesnt pinch or move. These were very thoughtfully constructed: a nice short fit that keeps you cool, but fitted coverage so that your not distracted worring about hanging out of your shorts while training. May 10, 2013
THE BEST SHORTS EVER! I got these speed shorts as a gift in plaid green and they are the best shorts in the world! I'm 167cm tall and 97lbs and I got them in a size 2. They fit perfectly and I'm so so excited to wear them to my track practices and meets! The only problem was that I got them a little bit dirty and I rub it off with water but it won't come off. :( I hope the dirt comes off in the wash though, which I haven't tried yet. I love the pockets in the front and then zipper in the back and I love the fabric of the waistband! This is so worth the price! May 10, 2013
Best shorts ever! They are comfortable, the fit is super flattering, and they are very functional. I can run, row, squat, jump, whatever. They stay put and stay cool. Great shorts! Run Small. LOVE the shorts. I'm bottom heavy (large hips and thighs, small waist) and its typically very difficult for me to find shorts that fit my waist to hip to thigh ratio AND look good AND feel comfortable while doing activity. These are it! I LOVE that they are longer in the back than in the front to cover my sizable assets. Love the back pocket, my iPhone fits perfectly, so I plug my headphones in and don't need an arm band (and prevent a bad tan line from it). Vents on the shorts are fun too! I wear a 6 in Lulu pants, but couldn't squeeze into a 6 to save my life in these shorts...but an 8 works perfect. May 10, 2013
PERFECT RUNNING SHORTS!! I have worn adidas, nike, and ua shorts...but these are my absolute favorite for running (and even hot yoga). In comparison, all other brands have baggy, granny-style liners, one measly front envelope pocket, uneven drawtrings, muffin-top folded waistbands, and wide flared sides that look funny/awkward on a shorty like me. I love everything about the speed shorts: the security of a zipper pocket for my keys, the liner is so comfortable/forgettable, the waistband stays flat, and the cut of the venting along the sides is super flattering. I usually clip my ipod to the outer portion of the gel pocket, so that it doesn't strain the clip or touch my stomach -- convenient bonus! By far the easiest piece of shorts to throw on and forget about! I've just been trying to justify throwing out the non-lulu pairs & restocking my gym gear with these... (btw I'm 5'2", 115#, size 4 in all lulu) May 10, 2013
