why we made this

We designed this short specifically for women like us with athletic legs and thighs: cut generously in the leg to allow for maximum moveability. We made it out of lightweight, wicking Swift fabric so we can work up a sweat without worrying about catching a chill.

Love these! I am 5'8", 138 lbs and usually wear a size 6 in Lululemon (a size 4/6 in other brands). My measurements are 34D, 28" waist and 36" hips. I purchased these in a size 6 and they fit just slightly small/tight. The elastic digs a bit. I can still wear them and they are really cute. They will definitely stay in place! They are well made and the fabric is great - very light. June 15, 2013
These Shorts Blew My Mind! I bought these shorts a couple of weeks ago when I went shopping with my friends. I had never bought anything from Lululemon and I heard a lot of good things about these shorts. These shorts are magical (not literally, but figuritvely [just checking])! I tried them on in the store, and it felt like I wasn't wearing anything (quite seriously). These shorts are the best investment I made to myself (and one of few!). These shorts are lightweight, durable, comfortable, cute, and come in a lot of cool colours. June 14, 2013
I am 6 ft. tall, and unfortunately even though these are advertised as being "so much longer" than traditional running shorts (all of which average an inseam of 2.5"-3", which is a joke) these are still pretty darn short. I understand I have longer legs than most, but I have yet to find a pair of shorts that I actually feel comfortable wearing out in public. I am by no means heavy, but also by no means do I have perfect legs. I bought these from the WMTM section so cannot return them. I will use them for lounging around the house and "motivation" shorts, but I'm sad I won't ever get to use them for their intended purpose of running. They also give me a muffin top as they are low-rise, and were a bit snug around the thigh (I have muscular legs but nothing crazy). Again, I recognize that my complaints have to do with my build/body type and are not necessarily reflective on Lululemon, but it is frustrating trying to find workout clothes that fit certain body types that are often forgotten about. I had higher hopes for the fit and length of these shorts. I may have to give up on finding shorts all together and just stick with crops. June 13, 2013
GREAT SHORTS! I really do love these shorts! They are perfect for a run or for teaching my group fitness classes! They are adorable, yet functional. I am so pleased with the length. I like the way the speed shorts feel, but they are just too short for me to feel comfortable in. The Groovy short is perfection all around! New White/Grey Strip Short Fabric & Fit I went into my local Lulu store yesterday to find a new pair of running shorts, and decided to try on the new pattern (white with grey stripes) shorts. I'm normally a 6 in Lulu shorts, and sometimes wear a 4/6 in the luon stretch capris depending on the fit. I do have stronger/bigger thighs as a runner/crossfitter, but I was disappointed. While the black, 4-way stretch fabric shorts fit (almost large) in a 6, I couldn't even get the new white/grey stripe patterned short over my thighs. I know its partially because the fabric doesn't give at all, but I really think they might be cut smaller, so size up, ladies, and know the fabric won't stretch! June 12, 2013
weird fit these shorts have a weird fit. I am 5'1" about 124 lbs and generally a size 4. These shorts have a weird flap of fabric underneath running down the outside of the outer thighs which is uncomfortable and adds bulk and lines. It's just an odd fit, somewhere between a spandex compression short and a running short but not the best of either. Disappointing. June 10, 2013
Awesome shorts! I got these in the mail yesterday and immediately loved the colors (the coral ones). I wore them today for a 12 mile run! They were great! No chafing, rubbing or riding up! And I love the longer length! For reference, I am 5'4", approx. 135 pounds and an 8 fits perfect! I am going to have to order more! June 8, 2013
officially a lulu snob I've been crossfitting for about 6 months now and have not found a good pair of shorts that I don't have to keep adjusting.. Until now.. I was hesitant at first to order these because of the price tag. I wore them yesterday for lots of squats WOD and they were amazing! I will be ordering more. I'm 5'3, 130, with very athletic legs, and the size 6 fit perfect. June 6, 2013
Great shorts if you want them longer These were great but I am only 5'3 and they were a little long for me so I went with the speed shorts. They did fit well though in a size 4 and 6 depending on how much room you like. I am 118lbs, 32-25-38. June 4, 2013
Comfotable, Stay-Put Running Shorts I saw these shorts in the store in black, but bought them online in fresh teal because they were on clearance. The fresh teal material is different than the black material. The black material is a little softer than the teal. I still really like the fresh teal though, because they're comfortable and stay put on long runs. They didn't slip down, ride up, or chafe. They are a little sheer, but they've got a liner, so that's all that shows through. I also like these because they're a bit longer the Speed shorts. I will probably get one or two more pairs of these shorts in different colors. June 3, 2013
