Studio Surf Jacket

why we made this

Inspired by the chilly waters and die-hard divers off the coast of British Columbia, we designed this body-skimming jacket with a snug hood to help us hold in our heat. The four-way stretch luon fabric is moisture wicking to help pull post-Savasana sweat away from our skin - it's fun getting sweaty but staying that way isn't ideal.

key features

  • hidden front pockets for your phone, studio card and cash
  • moisture-wicking luon fabric helps pull sweat away from post-practice skin
  • zipper garage keeps your chin protected
  • lost your elastic? no sweat - there's a spare attached to the zipper
  • dropped hem for more coverage in the rear

tech specs

  • designed for: yoga
  • fabric(s): luon®
  • properties: four-way stretch, moisture wicking, preshrunk, chafe resistant, breathable
  • fit: body-skimming
  • length: mid-hip

Studio Surf Jacket 3.8 5 16 16
Here comes Speed Racer! I love my Studio Surf jacket. Yes, it was expensive, but it fits like a glove. To be honest, I most frequently wear it on its less-detailed reverse side because I prefer the sleek lines of the black with pops of vibrant green at the wrist and frond/zap stripes on the hood. I agree with the other reviewer who said she feels like Danica Patrick when she wears hers on its brighter side; I know I have woken up feeling confident to decide to flip to the boldly patterned side. Cute Jacket! (pretty pricy though, even on sale) I just picked this up in the store (barely on sale for $128). It was an impulse purchase since I was shopping for someone else, but the frond/faded zap/black was really cheery and called to me. (Makes me feel a bit like Danica Patrick haha). I'm 5'7" and muscular, and most of my Lulu items are 6s but could easily be 8s. I wound up buying this jacket in the green/black combo in a 6 only because there was no 8. The 6 is very fitted (fits similarly to the green/black on the model), and I would not say in a bad way except that the green color-blocking on the side, combined with the luon material, does not hide "bra bulge" if you aren't 100% lean (which I am not). That's my only real caveat with the 6--you'd think, to make it more slimming, the black would be on the sides and the colored part in the middle. Anyways, the 8 fit wonderfully, slim but just a tad more room, but my dog jumps all over me so I couldn't purchase in the pink/dune version, and the black/inkwell wasn't available. I was told in-store that it was reversible as well, and while it may not be "officially" reversible, I think you could get away with it. There are no pockets and no Lulu emblem on the reverse side, but since the color I chose reverses to basic black it seems like it would be totally fine that way, though at certain seams the bright green stitching shows through--again, not a deal breaker for me, and for the sake of versatility AND getting my money's worth, I will wear it both ways! Too Pricey I really like this jacket, except for the fact there's no thumbholes or cuffins. I'm tall and slim, and the sleeve was a tad short. But the price is RIDICULOUS. If it was priced around $100, I would live with the issues above, but for $150 it needs to be perfect, and it's not. Also, with the smooth seam interior, it should have been made to be reversible. Bought it, but felt ripped off when I got home. So I returned it. Bummed, because it was the closest fit to the define that I've tried in awhile. March 26, 2013
Price is the only issue!!! Too expensive I tried this jacket on today and LOVE it. The hood is great, the color blocking adds to the style and I didn't feel like it was too much. Material is amazing. I'm a Define jacket lover, so this is right up my alley. I do wish there were thumbholes. Either way, the sleeves are long enough that I can easily pull them down. I'm usually a 4 in the jackets, but the 6 fit perfect. A touch snug, but very comfortable and flattering. I will NOT buy this jacket until it goes on sale. It is not worth $150. Great jacket, but should NOT be priced this high. Lulu please reduce and I'll buy 2 b/c I truly love it. At this price though....I can leave it at the store. March 24, 2013
Great Jacket I tried it on in the store and thought it fit great, but I had several other items I wanted to purchase...My boyfriend wouldn't let me leave the store without it, so he bought it for me. I am 5'7", 130 lbs, and size 6 fit perfectly, tight without being TOO snug. The detailing is cool, I like the pockets. The black/inkwell looks great with jeans too:) March 15, 2013
Great Jacket! This is my first lululemon jacket. So far, I'm loving the material and the way it fits. I'm a little worried about pilling, especially at the sleeves, but so far, so good. And I personally love that it doesn't have thumbholes and the color blocking! March 14, 2013
I like it! I am certainly not in the majority apparently when it comes to this jacket. I like it. Wasn't sold on it when I viewed it online, but stopping into the store and trying it on changed my mind. I am not sure if it is worth the price tag or not. I guess time will tell on that point. But, I like how it is fitted (and it is really fitted). I am usually a very solid 4 and purchased this in a 6 and it was still fitted. I like it and am happy with the purchase. March 6, 2013
Like the colors Ok, I ordered this jacket, and really loved the fit and length, (I'm 5'9"), but I couldn't justify the $148. I don't think it's worth that. It is a form-fitting jacket and really cute, and I do like the design, but like another review said, I am kind of getting tired of the color blocking. I would probably buy in the frond/black if it goes on MD, though. I am borderline 4/6 and definitely went up to a 6 in this. March 3, 2013
Too short! AGAIN! Once again this jacket is too short! Also I am a little tired of all the color block stuff too busy and I know I will get tired of it really quick so not worth the money to me plus its NOT TIMELESS and will go out of style in about 5 minutes! Plus the design....the way colors are cut off at sleeves it gives you an illusion the sleeves are 3/4th length and it looks awful at least on me! It makes me look like I grew out of it. Overall not flattering in my opinion! I think lately lulu is trying too hard to be creative and wild with all the colors and patterns and its starting to look like forever you know what store for teenagers! I love the corals and yellows by the way but many items are starting to bee too fluorescent so please keep the corals and pop orange for some other items but do not make them so 80's please! Too expensive If you like the Define jacket, I would say to definitely try this one on. It fits well through the body - I found it fit me better than the Forme, but I did find that the shoulders were a bit pointy like other people have noted with the Forme. I think taller ladies may dislike the lack of length, but since I am petite, it was great on me. I bought this. But I am returning it. Too pricy. The fabric felt nice and thick like the old Luon, but I think the first reviewer said that it pilled easily. I am not holding onto it long enough to find out. This jacket is $50 more than the Define used to be, but there are no thumbholes/cuffins, and the pockets don't even have zippers. The only thing it has is the hairtie. I did like that the strips down the middle of the back and arms are bonded material so it feels sleek, but the details this jacket has just do not add up to $148. I am returning it and will only buy/keep it when Lulu reprices this by the $50. Oh, how I miss the Define! March 1, 2013
