order at least one size smaller than your norm
I am very disappointed in these crops :( I ordered a pair on line to go away to CUBA at Spring break...they fit perfectly when they arrived in the mail...I put them in my suit case...on a cool day on my vacation I put them on...after about 30 minutes I felt like I was swimming in my crops...so disappointing. One of my favourite features of 'lulu' products is that you can put them on, be comfy, and still feel stylish and even a little sexy LOL. However, all i felt was frumpy and self-conscious. Not impressed for the value. After speaking with a representative in the store she encouraged me to buy a smaller size...a little too late now.

Mixed Feelings
This is a difficult review to write because lululemon recently made some minor design revisions to the Studio Crop. My three star rating is an average of the five star rating for the "pre-revision" design and one star rating for the revised design.
I will begin with a rave about the "pre-revision" design. The unlined Studio Crops are fantastic! They are part of my go-to weekend "uniform" and are comfortable without looking sloppy. I even wear them to the weight room to train in on occasion, and they perform well. The cinching drawstring at the hems is a great feature that provides some versatility. At 5'6" and 130 lbs with a slightly curvy lower body, the size 6 fits me well (this is the same size I wear in Luon and Luxtreme crops). I have not experienced any of the waistband issues/defects cited by other reviewers and find the waistband to be very comfortable.
Unfortunately, lululemon recently incorporated some minor revisions into the design. The metal, embossed tips at the ends of the drawstring were replaced with cheap looking plastic pieces. This detail is more like something I would expect from lower dollar crops or pants offered at big box sporting goods stores. Also, the holes in the waistband where the drawstring comes out are not finished very well, which results in an unclean look. I could probably live with these changes if it wasn't for the incredibly scratchy inner seams along the seat and legs of the crops. The seams in the Light Soot pair I ordered were intolerably scratchy on my skin, way scratchier than the seams in my older Studio Crops. Although I love the Light Soot color, the seams were a deal breaker, and the crops were returned to the store. The Light Soot crops merchandised in the store had similarly scratchy seams.
When and if lululemon restores the Studio Crop design to its original glory, I will estatically purchase more pairs in the future. Until then, I will continue to enjoy the pairs I already have and love.

dissapointing.
I bought a pair of non lined studio crops and a pair of lined pants just after Christmas and I *LOVE* them, I have had no issues. I wish someone had told me to size down a size, I am 5'6 125lbs and normally wear a 6. The 6s I bought fit but a 4 fits much better.
I bought a new pair of crops this weekend because I want to wear them all the time, I've only worn them for two days and the waistband is already curled way down. It's annoying and they already don't stay up as well as my other pairs. When you pay that much for a pair of pants things like this should not happen.

Great pants
These crops are super cute and flattering.
I am 5'6" and 140#. I am between a 6 and an 8 in pants. I originally tried the 8's and was swimming in them. Since 6 wasn't in stock at my local store and reviews talked about how big these run, I tried a 4, but they were just a tad too snug in certain places. 6 is perfect, and it's slimming and still has some give.
I bought the soot light color. Besides being comfy and fairly soft, the style is very versatile, particularly in this color. You can dress them up (to a certain extent) and dress them down. With some slightly scratchy seaming down the sides near the pockets (which I only notice in certain instances like while climbing the stairs), I can't see myself doing any kind of yoga or light workouts in them. These will definitely be casual wear only.
As much as I love the crops, I am not a fan of the waistband at all. It's extremely flimsy and offers no support at all for my midsection. I can tie the ribbon tight enough to hold the pants where they need to be, but the waistband itself folds over and curls under above the ribbon and just kind of sits there. I can forgive the appearance of it because it won't really ever be exposed, but ideally the waistband needs to be firm and supportive on my belly.
I also tried on the white crops with the liner, which is a slightly older version, for sizing. I noticed the metal encasings on the ends of the drawstring, where the current version has plastic. It was one of those little details that would have made a difference. Such a small thing, but loudly proclaims "we're cutting corners."
The only other item on my wish list for these pants is a metal piece that you squeeze to secure the cinch cords around the hem, like the ones on tanks like the Tame Me or Back on Track. I like to wear these with the hems cinched, and it's a bit awkward trying to tie them.
I do love these crops and have definitely taken up residence in them. Despite the discomfort of the waistband, they are really comfy on the whole and cute and flattering, and I'd highly recommend them. I just couldn't justify another $88 on a second pair unless the waistband gets an overhaul.

These are the best!
I finally bought my first pair, and wishing I could buy more. The price is the only thing that stops me from buying another pair. These are so comfy, slimming and just something you want to wear everyday! Love them!

Permanently Attached
I bought these on a whim at the store. Seemed extravagant for what they are and for the price but I've barely taken them off since I purchased them. I wear them around the house, yoga, and even to a weight lifting class. A must in every color! I only wish I could wear them to work.

What is with the waist band!?!
I own 2 pairs I studio pants and just recently purchased 2 crops, all with the same flaw! The waist band will not lay flat! The top elastic part folds almost completely in half, even after washing, I cannot get them to lay flat! My lined crops, purchased at Christmas are already fraying too
I'm ready to return all if them

Sizing Difference with certain colours?
I do really the new colours so I ordered both soot and power purple in my normal size 6. Looked at all the reviews and questioned if I should size down my husband ended up picking up a size 4 in power purple.. I tried them on and they were to tight so I was a bit confused... Went back to my store tried on a 4 in the soot colour which fit me perfectly and the soot in a size 6 were to big but the power purple size 4 is to tight and the size 6 power purple fit better.. what is going on????!!! I ended up returning everything and buying the size 6 power purple in my normal size all said in done I would agree with sizing down on the soot but not on the power purple perhaps for what ever strange reason the lighter the colour the tighter the fit. Should try on just to make sure in the store before ordering on line there is no guarantee on the sizing!
