ZIPPER PROBLEM SOLVED! I bought this skirt in store and then went back the next day to get the other colour. When I got to the counter, the salesperson told me (and all the other salespeople) that when the zipper is in the up position, it can slide back down, but when it is in the down position, it is LOCKED. It will not come open. I tried it. I was hesitant to buy the skirt because of all the bad reviews about the zipper but now I have no worries. Just leave your zipper in the down position and it will stay put all day long. Love the cut, it fit me TTS, the colours and the pockets! Keep them coming LLL! August 31, 2014
cute, not quite functional The fit is great, and the skirt is very cute. However, must wear shorts under, especially with ANY chance of even a light breeze or active movement. Also, the back zipper does not have a hook and eye closure, and i needed to add a safety pin to keep it from unzipping from any tension on the stretchy fabric. I will absolutely be keeping and rocking this skirt, just needs a little end-user adjustment to make it more functional. July 15, 2014
Pleasantly surprised I really like this skirt a lot. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because the unfinished hem feels kind of cheap, otherwise, contrary to other reviews, I found this skirt to fit TTS, no gaping, no zipper problems, and with modest coverage. I'm 5'7" and I consider myself a clothing conservative mom of 3. I actually thought my TTS was a little bit loose but I kept it anyway because it sits low on my hips providing the length I like. I have really enjoyed this skirt but I do wish that the hem were finished. I just bugs me to pay this much for a skirt that feels cheapened by lack of attention to detail, although I'm sure that the designers would say that the unfinished hem IS the detail. June 29, 2014
great summer skirt I am a size 2 in tops and 4 in bottoms and found the size 4 to be TTS. Have not had any troubles with the zipper or pocket gape as mentioned. Thankfully I am only 5ft tall so the length works well for me. Perfect fun skirt to wear with a crop top for summer dates. June 27, 2014
Great skirt I often see clothes on a model and think how great she looks, buy the clothes, only to find out that I don't look as good as what was in the picture. Then I blame myself... But in the case of this skirt, I'll be honest, I look fabulous! It's a great piece that can look both sporty and elegant and will go well with many things I already own. It seems well made and I do not have the problem with the front pocket creating a pouch on the lower abdomen. On me, it lays perfectly flat. Also, so far, no zipper problems... I'm usually a size 2 in Lulu and I went with the size 4, since it's the smallest size for that skirt. It fits me perfectly. I'm 5'3", 105 lbs and small waisted. I can see how it would be awkward to wear for someone with a wide waist. You need to wear the proper size according to your waist for this item. Anyway, for me, it's a big 5 stars! June 25, 2014
Great if you are a 16 year-old cheerleader Too short Too small Too young Too expensive Too bad June 24, 2014
Runs very small This is a super cute skirt -- great thick fabric, flattering shape. However it RUNS REALLY SMALL. Seriously. I wear a J.Crew dress size 4, Wunder Under crops size 6, and while I bought this skirt in an 8, I wish I'd sized up to a 10. It's cut very high-waisted, and if I weren't so short (5'3), it would be pretty obscene. If the skirt is too small, it rides up, the pocket in front bunches, and the zipper can come unzipped (agree with other commenters that it needs a hook.) However, all of these issues can be solved by getting a bigger size. I full plan to wear this skirt to work with tees and sweaters -- it looks really nice. June 24, 2014
Cute but Zipper Issues Bought online, then saw it in my store and loved the fit/style so much I bought it in store so I didnt have to wait.Too bad I did.The zipper doesnt want to stay up! :( So sad b/c this is so adorable and flattering.Im 5'2 and curvy, run between a 4 & 6. This was perfect in the 4. I cannot recommend this due to the zipper.I saw another review complaining about the hem.I seriously doubt this will be an issue if you usually machine wash cold lulu with only similiar color lulu and hang dry.Quality of fabric is good. Zipper is beyond POOR. June 22, 2014
CAN'T get it on skirt - CAN'T! Although I really like the silhouette of this skirt, I had to leave a review because none of the other reviewers mentioned the following details: this skirt runs really small and lacks refined details that one would expect in a $78 garment. I can fit a 6 Tall in Pace Setters and I could barely get the size 10 in this skirt zipped all the way up! If you are going to order it, even after reading this review, then order 1 or even 2 sizes (if you do not want super tight)bigger than your usual. Next problem, after a struggle and I finally had this zipped all the way up, the big, ugly, shoddy, gaudy zipper would not stay up. A prior review did mention this and I completely agree - there needs to be a hook or button of some sort to make sure this skirt stays up, because the zipper does give. Then, here is the biggest reason why I am not keeping this: the hem is unfinished. It is not tucked under and sewn like normal garments are. The hem is raw and I really worried (especially with Lulu's fabric problems of the past year or 2) if it would unravel after washing and I'd just have these threads trailing down. For $78, I do not want to take that chance. They could have finished it off with a grosgrain ribbon wrapping around the edge, like is on the waist, but I guess they were too lazy. I did not love the kangaroo pocket on the front, centered right on the tummy. Unless you are stick thin, you will find that the pockets gape after it is on because of the poor placement on the front, even if you put nothing inside. The model has this happening in the photos. In addition, there are not really even 2 pockets - just 2 openings that lead to 1 shared compartment. Suggestion: put a pocket on the back, or move the front ones further apart and to the side. So given that I really like the cut, length, and quality fabric, the finishing details that have made me a Lulu devotee are lacking. Lulu, you know your most loyal customers will pay for quality (that's why we shop here and not at cheaper brands), so I'd rather you charge a bit more but make sure the zippers are nice, the pockets are in the right place, and the hems are finished. A hook is needed It seem everybody loves this skirt?Yes, i love the design, the fabric. It is so cute. But i didn't realize the problem until I try it on at home. That is the zipper! IT WONT STAY UP! The zipper of this skirt is on the back and there is no buttons, hooks or any fastener above the zipper area. The moment you sit or move, the zipper just unzipping itself. It is so frustrating for me....I plan to return it. June 16, 2014
