Rated 4 out of 5 by EllaW Great Yoga Shorts for the Price
These are great yoga shorts--I felt they do ride up a bit, but that's to be expected with just about any yoga short. I got them on WMTM and I probably wouldn't have paid full price for them.
Some reviews seem critical that the shorts are not suitable for distance running or crossfit, but they're meant for yoga, which is what I use them for. They are quite short, but do have a little more coverage in back, which I appreciate. I personally like the roll down option. Overall, I would definitely recommend for yoga/hot yoga.

by leanmeanyogamachine Might work for running - that's it
I tried these shorts on in store to make sure I got the right size before ordering online. I'm 5'5", 140 lbs, and bought a 6. I was SO excited for these shorts, as they were WMTM and the colour I'd been wanting!
To start, I absolutely love how they look on me. I love the high waist, the cute pattern, the length, and they're very opaque. In theory, they are the perfect lifting short as they support my stomach which reminds me to use my core during lifts, they don't get in my way, and they are simply lovely.
Now to the bad part. They absolutely will not stay put. I bought them with the intention to weight lift in them, so I did a few air squats after putting them on and they immediately rolled up. I adjusted them a few times and tries various lift movements (deadlift, lunge, split squat), then thought maybe they really were only for yoga (like the description says) so I decided to do a few vinyasa flows. Well, I got halfway through one before the rolling began again and irritated my skin so much that I had to stop.
I don't so much mind my rear hanging out (I honestly don't as I live in gymnastics leotards anyway), but it's actually a bit painful once the shorts get up high enough and the roll begins to dig in. I originally had planned to use these as lounge/study/sleep shorts if they didn't work for lifting/yoga/gymnastics, but I can't even do that because they're so uncomfortable.
I did a little imitation jog up and down my hallway, and I didn't notice much movement, so I could imagine wearing them for that as long as you aren't a sprinter. I've realized that any sort of hip flexion is what causes the rolling, so as long as your hips stay relatively extended (no sitting, no bending) they should be alright. I have plenty of running shorts actually made for running though, so these are going back.
Basically, I don't mind wearing underwear-shorts to work out, but I DO mind wearing underwear-shorts that chafe and irritate my skin. I'm too busy lifting hundreds of pounds and flipping upside down to worry about my clothes.

I purchased these without trying them on thinking they would be just fine like the old boogie shorts that I have come to know and love. Sadly, when I got home and tried them on I absolutely hated the look of the high waist. When I rolled them down it did nothing but pinch me in the most unflattering way. Please bring back the old boogie short! They were all I wore to workout in, and now I have to purchase my shorts elsewhere. I'm very sad because I love the material but the new cut is terrible.

I like these shorts okay-- they function fine-- but I would honestly buy hundreds worth of the regular boogie shorts if you brought them back in stock with great colors. These shorts look a little awkward when just wearing shorts and a sports bra, although I do like that they suck you in when wearing tight tops. I think you'd do very well bringing back an array of colored regular boogies and keeping roll-down in stock as well. These are my fave Lulu purchases and I'd love to see both on the market!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bolva Please bring back the old boogie short!
I used to buy boogie shorts every time they released a new color or print. When the roll down version was released I tried them and was so unhappy about the fit. When rolled up, they are big and form a gap around my waist. When rolled down, they create a muffin top. So sad.
I really do hope they bring the old design back.

I'm really enjoying this roll down version of the boogie shorts. They allow me to feel a little more covered in what would otherwise be too skimpy for me. If I feel they are riding up a little in the rear, I can pull them down without worrying about exposing myself too much on the other end.
And who doesn't love a little help in the waist area. I don't know why other reviewers are displeased with these. And what happened to all the other previous positive reviews that seems to have gotten wiped out. How are these waists any different than the Wunder under hi rise waists and the high times waists that are so popular?
Please, please go not get rid of these!! If anything, offer both the roll downs and the reg waist.

Please bring back the old shorts that don't have the high waist/roll down feature. I tried these on in stores and they looked hideous on me, even with the fact that I'm 5'10. Rolling them down adds bulk on my hips and having them up looks flat out awful. Please please please bring back the traditional waisted ones!

I used to buy A LOT of these. But I don't want the high waist. At least give us the option for the old Boogies. I know I'm just one person...and can't do much...but I want the old Boogies back!!!!

Lulu, please make these with a normal waist again! I dont have a muffin top to cover and I have a short torso so these look awful on me. And they are uncomfortable. I used to love these shorts for crossfit, but with the high waist they suck.

Ugg, these look so horrible. I have a short torso and these shorts are so uncomfortable. I used to buy a pair of boogie shorts every time I visited a Lulu, but these new designs are just not that great. Bring back the old boogie shorts!
