A 6-MONTH REVIEW: DO NOT BUY!
Received these as a gift for Valentine's Day. I've gotta say, I LOVED them at first. They are honestly one of the most comfortable pair of pants I have ever owned. HOWEVER, 6 months in, they have pilled terribly and the seams are RIPPING apart.
I wear these *maybe* once a week. I wash them separately on the gentle cycle and hang them to dry. Literally, they are the only piece of clothing in the washer. They are NOT ill-fitting. They are a size 10, and they are loose-fitting in all areas. A 12 would have fallen off.
Bottom line: if you have $100 to buy new pants every few months, go for it. Otherwise, march on over to Target and get a pair for $20. Betcha they'll last longer...

Lululemon your slowly and painfully losing my confidence in your product! I wish it wasn't true, but the quality has decreased so quickly it's amazing. I have a pair of groove pants that are 6 years old and have never had a problem with holes or piling. I recently purchased a new pair of Grooves and BAM, 3 months later holes in the leg seams and piling (and I am a stickler for proper laundry care!) ! =( Not the kind of quality I am used too from Lulu! As well, this new fabric is awful! It's shiny and feels cheap, like the material you would find on knock off yoga pants. The "In the flow" crops are the only thing I like at Lulu anymore, and even they get holes in the seams. So frustrating since Lulu used to be the gold standard for quality in work out gear!

I really loved the print they offered in this style, but after about 3 months of owning these pants, a hole appeared on one of the pant legs. I treat my Lulu like gold. I only wash my Lulu with other Lulu and hang dry them, just like they told me. I also have a huge amount fo pilling on the inside of my legs. I know I'm muscular, but the pilling usually comes after about a year of wear, not months. So sad :(

I own three pairs of Grooves -- one pair is 6 years old and still looks new, another is 2 1/2 years old and has pilling all over/is see-through, and another is 1 1/2 years old and is in acceptable condition. I have purchased many different clothing items from lulu over the years without any issues.
I absolutely love every piece of clothing I own from this company with the exception of my grey grooves. I would understand some pilling in areas that would rub, but there is pilling everywhere: on the waistband, thighs, knees, even at the bottom where it is loose and there is no way it can rub!
I am absolutely disappointed with the quality issue of my pants. I would not recommend that anyone purchase a pair of these pants if they want activewear that will last the 5 years that lululemon guarantees.
These pants are supposed to make you feel confident about yourself, but I am embarrassed to wear my grooves out of the house. Please work on the quality issue with your pants! I am a loyal customer and I don't want to have to take my business elsewhere!!

LOVE these, but they don't last
I wear these pants all winter and LOVE the fit. I would give a 5 for the way they look when they are new!
Unfortunately I have to agree that they don't last well. I have several, pairs all bought within 18 months and they are piling. I don't wash them with cotton, and since I workout almost every day, it isn't a problem to do a separate load of laundry. Please improve the quality - I am addicted to the fit. Also please make some crops with the line down the butt. They look awesome from the back.

Flattering fit but pilling
Excellent fit, very flattering especially around thigh/knee area, and even though there is a little pilling, I still love wearing them.
I recently updated my sports wardrobe with a bunch of things, many of them being LLL products. Of note, my pants from a few years ago lost their elasticity (they literally make that cracking sound when I pull them up) and there is enormous amounts of pilling. I wore those pants almost everyday and washed them appropriately - flat dry, no machine drying. I mention this because if you are someone that also wears this pant everyday, maybe the wear and tear is normal.
I have many pants from other brand name companies over the years that literally lost their stretch and are super baggy - I ended up donating and throwing away a bunch of them. For the fit and comfort that I got from those pants I did not find in other companies over the years, I still think paying full price was worth it for those and these pants. (I also own several wunder unders, crops and this pair of pants is just a staple pant to have)
I now use my new pants for traveling, mainly in the airport as well as to and from yoga/gym.
I agree with previous comments that the pilling around the bum & thighs isn't ideal. I very much love LLL products so I would like to see improvement regarding this.

Luon material is too high maintenance
Between me and my daughters, we have several pairs of these, plus numerous leggings and capris in Luon fabric. This fabric looks great at the store and for a short period of time, but then it starts pilling. It also attracts every stray bit of fuzz, fur, etc. I have to be careful not to touch the carpet with them when putting them on or they will attract wool from it. When I mentioned it at the store they looked at me funny and told me that the products should only be used for yoga (if their clothes were only used for yoga they'd be out of business) and should never be washed with any cottons. What planet do they live in? Anything that delicate and fragile doesn't belong in my household. In frustration, I started buying Zella brand and they are a great, comfortable material and don't have these problems. My girls love them. I can throw them in a regular load, not a special Lululemon load, and they come out great. And they are about half the price.

Too expensive, poor quality
I have been an avid lululemon wearer for the last 10 years or so, and my Groove pants have been with me wherever I go. I own 5 pairs of Groove pants at the moment, but not because I love them so much but because they don't last very long! I even returned one because there was a hole after wearing it only a few times, and the hole was where my thighs would rub against each other. But at $98 plus taxes these pants should last much longer! I always find the same pilling problem with each of my lulu pants, and it is really vexing to throw the pants and buy new one only to have the same problem over and over again. I wash my pants very carefully, and have read and followed the washing instructions very well. I think I won't be purchasing any more of the Groove pants because frankly there are so many other brands nowadays with less expensive options that would last just as long as the lulu pants if not longer! These pants are simply too expensive and there is definitely a quality issue that needs to be addressed.

I have made another disappointing review which you may notice is very similar for wunder-unders. I own a pair of grooves (reg) for about a year and a half now, I stopped wearing them after 8 months. I take very good care of my clothing. All my Lulu is washed with a delicate detergent, reliable brand on a delicate or hand wash cycle on my washing machine also never with hot water, never have I put my Lulu clothing in the drier, I always have hang dried or laid them out flat to dry. These pants are full of pilling throughout (especially in the groin area), some of the stitching is loose and my stitching has completely unravelled and I cannot wear them because my inner thigh is exposed! Prior to their short life span they were very flattering on my petite frame, and balanced my short curvy body which I loved! I stopped wearing them because I look lazy, like they are old and dirty from the pilling, and they dont have that nice sheen like they once did in the store. When I bend over while weight training, yoga or even running errands they are sheer which makes them nearly impossible to wear in public. 98$ down the drain. I am so disappointed, I have invested a lot of money into lots of other Lululemon clothing and my stuff from 5+ years ago (guessing the age, been to long to remember) has lasted me better than my recent purchases! I absolutely love the quality of my bags, and wish I had spent my money towards the accessories rather then the bottoms. I have always believed in quality over quantity, but I have sadly realised that I could have spent my money more wisely towards better materials, quality in the way it was made and ultimately the brand. (and yes I am wearing the appropriate size, I prefer mine on the bigger size rather than tighter)!

these are perfect
i recently got a pair a couple weeks ago, and im in love.
they're just so unbelievably comfy.
i was a bit worried due to the other reviews on the quality, but i haven't had a single problem with sheerness or pilling. perhaps go up a size if its sheer? i tried the size 4, but it was a little see through when i bent over. so i went up a size and it fits perfectly, no sheerness.
plus i think the pilling may be due to not washing the pants properly.
these pants are really great. i suggest giving them a shot, and just making sure that you try them on and wash them properly.
