why we made this
We're all about embracing change, which is why we've updated the silhouette of our beloved Groove Pant. It's still the pant that takes us from yoga class to the gym and everywhere in between, with a couple of small changes (ch-ch-check 'em out below).
fabric + features
a tight-knit version of our Luon™ fabric - Full-On Luon™ gives incredible support and coverage with a cottony-soft feel
Full-On Luon™ is sweat-wicking, four-way stretch and breathable
we've increased the rise at the back of the waistband to help keep you covered in Forward Fold
we also narrowed the knee by 1" and broadened the leg opening (the "bell") by the same amount
the smooth, flat waistband is comfortable and won't dig in
I wish I could be writing a better review, after all these are the most comfortable, best fitting pants I have. But for the price, they are just NOT worth it. Within a month of owning these pants and washing MAYBE every 3rd wear, the pilling became very noticeable and annoying. So although they are a great fit, the quality just isn't there.

LOVE the full on luon!
I absolutely love these pants I ordered them despite reading so many negative reviews, and I'm so glad I did. They're soft and comfortable, and they give great support. Every time I wear them it feels like my bum and legs are getting a cozy hug.
I'm 5'10" with a big bum & thighs, and the 12 fit me perfectly. Can't wait until they restock some prettier colours.

Disappointed Again...and NOT surprised!!!
I received a pair of groove pants as a gift (I would NEVER again purchase them) and after wearing them for about 2 hours I was not surprised to see the inner thighs have begun to pill.
The pants are so comfortable, and so it's really disappointing that they don't stand up. It seems that the pants begin to pill from the moment you put them on. If your legs even rub together slightly, the fabric in the inner thigh area becomes all bally and rough. If you even THINK about your legs rubbing together then will pill!!! So disappointed to receive them as a gift, since I knew the pilling would happen, and the pants would look years old, within mere days!!!!

I love all of my Lulus!
I really love all of the pants from lululemon. I have given these pants as a gift multiple times. I know some people have a problem with the pilling, but I think it just depends on how they are washed.

My friends have been raving about lululemon for years. I told my husband that I would like a pair of yoga pants for my birthday as I pretty much wear yoga pants everyday. He told me NOT to wash the pants with other cotton work out gear and not to dry them. My first wear was great! They were so comfortable and they looked amazing.
After the first wash, I began to notice that the pants were starting to pill. After other washes the pants are horrendous. I can't believe that my pants from Target and Old Navy have held up better for several years than just one or two washes with these pants.
I am so sad to say that I will not buy another pair of pants from this company.

After only wearing this pant twice, I am highly dissapointed on the quality of the pant as it started pilling! Though I received this as a gift, it is poor quality for being retailed $98. For a pant being priced at that range, I would expect more fromt the brand. I've had VS pants for years and have never encountered the problem of pilling.

Completely Disappointed! I have been buying lululemon pants (more groove's than any other pair) for almost 10 years now; the ones I bought in 2008 look better than the ones I bought two months ago! If we're going to spend $100+ on a pair of pants, the least you could do is make them properly and with the same fabric as before! The new fit it terrible!

#VeryDisappointed with Groove Pants
My Lulu days are numbered. For the price, these pants are just no longer a quality product. The pair I just bought are baggy in the thigh. I am going to check out Nux.

Not the same, really sad
I think the first pair of Grooves I bought was back in 2009 or 2010. I couldn't believe my eyes when I tried them on. And, quite frankly, those pants are STILL going good, no pilling, no seam issues and no sheerness at all. And when I say still good, I mean that I work out in those pants at least four times a week. That kind of stuff was made of unicorns and candy.
The new grooves? Not so much. I loved the re-design last year with the longer and wider bootcut (shorties like me would lose the bootcut completely if even an inch was taken off for hemming, so it was a boon to those of us who needed a little alterations.) But after Sheer-Gate the new full on luon is a huge disappointment. After only a few weeks of light wear (remember, compare this to almost FOUR YEARS of great wear from my original few pairs) these were a mess. The color on the waistband faded (I got a printed waist pair) and the seams were unraveling on the inside of both thighs and at the bottom hem and near the crotch. The fabric was pilling in places it shouldn't have (my soft, seamless silk and cotton gym bag rubbing against my outer hip while walking to the gym actually caused pilling there.) And finally, the fit was totally different. They are much tighter in the thigh area, which is okay if you have room to size up. But if you're a 10 or 12, you're outta luck. I had to size up to a 10 from an 8, which was fine but then the waist slides down. But I literally couldn't get my thighs in the 6 or 8 I usually wear in Lulu. Finally, the fabric around the thigh and knee area kind of twists during workouts, so you end up concentrating more on re-aligning your pants than proper form.
Bottom line: No. Not the same. Wouldn't buy again, too many issues and for this money, I could have bought four sub-standard pairs of workout pants at a discount store and still have been better off for it.

I have been buying lululemon groove pants for years now, and i just received my 4th pair last Christmas (2013). I really do not like the full on luon and the new fit is terrible. I wanted to return them after Christmas but lululemon turned me down because they were purchased 3 weeks before Christmas. Not to mention the seam has already torn and I've only worn them 3 times. Lululemon needs to go back to using their old fit and old fabric. From what I am hearing no one likes the new fabric and everyone liked the old one.
Lululemon needs to go back to making quality pants as the ones they are currently selling are definitely not work $100.
