The Pure Mat 3mm
My new $16 mat is much better
This mat is the complete opposite of what the description says. It is slippery and super thin. The lack of cushion makes doing many poses uncomfortable. I know they said the smell would fade, but I used this mat for 2 months, 3 times a week and it still smells and makes me smell like rubber. I'm not going to waste my time washing it many times to try and get the smell out.
After reading other reviews on here and finding they were similar to mine, I took the mat back to a Lululemon store and explained my problems with it. Since they charge so much for this mat, and other mats, I was expecting better customer service than I received. The sales person was rude and unhelpful. After a very round about conversation, she finally said that they could "damage" the mat and give me store credit, but this would be a special exception for me.
If you are going to charge a lot of money for your products, they should be great. If a product is not great (such as this mat), you better have a good return policy. Many other stores have great return policies if you're not happy with their product, so should this one. Especially if the item doesn't do what it is suppose to do. This type of customer service makes me question shopping here, especially with the prices the way they are.
In the end, I bought a new mat from a nearby sports store for $16 and it's 10X better than this one. Don't waste your money.

not for hot yoga
bought this mat for bikram practice... have used it twice. it is now completely stained and will not dry. It just will not dry.... going to wash it today with warm water and baking soda - hope that will allow the sweat to leave the mat - but, as of right now, if i could return it, i would

I wanted to love this mat so much but it smells so bad! When I wash my hands (and when I say wash I mean scrub them raw with antibacterial dish soap and an abrasive sponge), they still stink! When I get in the shower after working out, I swear the water makes the smell stronger! I have been scrubbing myself raw just to smell normal and not like chemicals. I wish I hadn't spent so much on it :( Though I read the reviews, I saw that Lulu specifically said that the smell would fade. This just isn't true. I saw someone else complaining about the smell and a rep said to submerge it in warm water with baking soda. Seriously?! And what happens if the warm water damages it? None of my cheap $12.99 yoga mats from TJ Maxx smell like this. I'm not quite sure why it's called "Pure." I'm totally bummed out.

I dislike this mat, realllllly dislike it.
What a waist, I wish I could return it.
So HARD TO ROLL
SO SO SO STINKY!
I have this mat for 7 months now, leave it outside as much as I can, washed it several times....the smell is irritable and stays on my hands for hours. I could not bring it to class for the first 6 months because it smell to strong.
Yes, the grip at the store was nice, but still slip on down dogs, and slippery with sweaty hands.
If you have a dark mat (I have the purple) it always looks dirty because it scrape the dead skin of your feet and then stay stuck on it....and get even more slippery. I have to clean it every time.
I want to burn this mat!

Rubber smell does not fade, so disappointed!
This mat is so disappointing. I bought it as it is light and grippy, but the smell is AWFUL. It did not fade and my hands stink for hours afterwards, even with washing them a few times. I could not return it, and it is such a shame as I wanted to love this mat. Plus most 3mm mats I am fine with but this has no cushioning. I stopped teaching with it as I could not demonstrate poses like danurasana properly, it hurt my ribs.
I told the lulu girls in store and they agreed The Mat is a better purchase. I do not recommend this mat and wish I could have exchanged it.

Worst yoga mat I've ever had
This mat is everything a yoga mat shouldn't be - slippery, making squishy sounds, stained easily. I've had way better experience with 10$ yoga mats from winners. Do not buy this! Worst Lululemon purchase! Wish I could return it.

excellent mat but slippery at times
somehow I agree with both the positive and negative reviews of this mat. the mat is excellent quality, very grippy and a beautiful colour (in the green). I actually don't find it slippery during hot classes except for when I'm holding a downward dog, and then it is impossible to get a good grip. so, I bring a small hand towel along and I use it to dry off occassionally. otherwise, it's a great mat. the thickness is perfect, too.

Grippy, Thin Perfection
I've had a lot of high quality (and, frankly, low quality) yoga mats over the years. This is my absolute favorite. Still, I've had enough mats to know that different types suit different purposes (and different people). I still use my thicker Manduka mat for my general, non-yoga workouts.
But, for yoga, this mat is my absolute favorite. It's the perfect grippy texture, and thin enough that I feel grounded and connected to the floor - which is a preference for me when practicing yoga. Personally, I love that it's thin enough to feel 'natural' but substantial enough that it still provides a nice, grippy surface on which to comfortably practice my sequences. (Don't like the thin feel? Maybe try going to the 5mm or choosing a different mat.) When necessary, I also use a folded yoga towel for poses which put a toll on my knees for extra cushioning.
Now, I'm not a hot yoga girl, so I'm not sure how it holds up in these classes, but even if I was - I would probably consider using this one for it's grippy texture. Maybe with a non-slip towel on top of it, if needed...
Cleaning note: I use a light tea tree oil and water mixture in a spray bottle and *sponge* it on gently and allow to air-dry (instead of wiping with a towel, so I'm not putting unnecessary wear and tear on my mat). So far, this seems to work well.
I ordered this mat in black, have had it for 6+ months (moderate use 2 - 3x weekly), and use my mat indoors (studio + home).

I am a beginner at Bikram (hot) yoga and love this mat for my practice. I pair my Pure Mat with The Towel, and never have any slipping or sliding problems. I started with the UnMat, and prefer this for hot yoga, as it does not absorb moisture and is easier to clean. This mat has a lot of poor reviews, but it's great for me! You just need to make sure you buy the right mat for your practice, and definitely use a towel with this mat for sweaty classes.

heavy and super thin
I bought this mat after the LLL employee recommended it in the store. I really wish i could have opened it there as i must say, i am not at all impressed with it. the mat is SO heavy yet SO thin! it is like being right on the hard floor but you have an extra 5lbs to carry in your gym bag. i teach a yoga class and constantly am having to tug on it as it slips all over/bunches up, fold it to get some type of padding under hands/knees and even flip it over half way through class because it has got sweaty and dangerously slipery!
i cant think of where/when i would even use this...back to the search for my perfect mat :(
