5 Year Basic Tee
Too short. Way too short.
I'm only 5'11" athletic/muscular build and the bottom of an XL rests right at my belt-line while slouching. If I stand up straight with good posture, the bottom of the shirt rises nearly to about halfway between my pants and my belly button!! Seriously?? Raising my arms to a 90-degree angle on both sides lifted the bottom of the shirt above my belly button.. I don't understand why these shirts are made so short, the sleeves included.
I wanted to fall in love with these shirts, especially since the fit is now more tailored than the previous generations - which was a huge incentive for me to finally be happy with this product. However, I'm still disappointed in how short all of lululemon's shirts are and will not be purchasing anymore.
If these shirts had a couple extra inches of length, with a little extra length in the sleeves as well, they would be perfect!

Shirts getting shorter?
I've noticed that my new shirts (all styles) are shorter than previous versions. I still appreciate the craftsmanship of the clothing, but as a tall guy, it was nice to have well-fitting shirts that were long enough!

I pretty much live in my lulu gear and when I first bought these t-shirts they where amazing. They are cut well and the fabric feels amazing.
However its coming up a year since I bought the first one and unfortunately they are coming apart. My oldest tee has lost the shape around the collar and the fabric is "pilling", this one also has shrunk and the fabric has taken on a crunchy feeling. The rest are coming a long nicely as well. Each one seems to be doing a different thing which may have something to do with the dye for the colours. The common problems though are either the fabric turns hard or it becomes thin and loose which causes it to "bubble" which leads to saggy patches. I'm following all the washing instructions to the letter but clearly these things aren't made to last which is a real shame given how much i loved them at first. The white one is not yet 4 months old and it can be seen where it has "bubbled". The blue and white one is my oldest one and you can see how the collar edge has lost its shape and the "pilling" which has occurred.

My go to!
I love the fit and comfort of these T shirts! They fit so well and are the most comfortable shirts ive ever worn. I love the fabric, online this looks like just a basic cotton t shirt but trust me its not... You will get complements on how nice the shirts looks on you because its tailored so well to accentuate your body really well. Not too tight and not too loose... Love it! The only reason why I give 4 stars is because the quality control seems to have gone down on them. I have had one fall apart, the store was great and exchanged it for me though so there is no reason to worry due to their great quality promise.

These used to be my favorite t-shirts, by far. Over the years, the quality has just turned to rubbish.
I have one that is roughly 5 years old now and I use it as my reference tee. Super soft, fits perfectly. It's starting to pill up a bit now, but I still wear it more often than I probably should.
The 5 year tee they've been churning out the last couple of years are not of the same quality. The material is markedly different, and I've non-stop trouble with the collars going bacon-neck on me after a few washings.
Most recently, I purchased (gift card) another one, being somewhat hopeful of a change in quality, but I've found another strike. The shirt I just received is 2 inches shorter than any of the others I own. It's ridiculous. It also feels like the same material, so I'm guessing the collar will go down the tubes soon also.

Great fit + fabric
Why did lululemon stop making the plain black color?

I have a number of 5 year tees in all the variants and the crew neck is by far the most disappointing. I cared for this tee above and beyond what's indicated by the tag and low and behold bacon neck! How is it that MJ's multipack t-shirts can avoid this issue but a premium lulu shirt cannot! Needless to say from now on I'll be purchasing the "high" V neck version of the 5 year T only even though it's selection is often the most limited.

Very impressed and would like to buy more, however both in store and online are sold out of mediums.

Do NOT buy this shirt, as it has a tremendous design flaw. You would think that a shirt named the "5 year basic tee" would last longer than 3 months, but you would be mistaken. You'd also think that $54 for one shirt would get you great product, but you'd be incorrect again.
I bought 3 of these shirts over the course of several weeks because they fit great and were extremely comfortable. However, after no more than 10 washes, the collars of each of them started to deteriorate tremendously. I have 3-yr old Hanes and Fruit of the Loom cotton undershirts that are more FAR durable than these 5-yr Tees.
I ended up returning them to the store because the collars were so ridiculously loose and malformed. The customer service was fantastic, and they took all the shirts back for store credit. The guy behind the counter even acknowledged that he has several of these shirts, and they did the same thing to him in a matter of weeks too.
Lululemon makes some great stuff, but this shirt definitely does not fall under that category.

Great shirt except for the collars
I'm a bit of a Lulu fanatic and own quite a bit of their clothes but I cannot recommend these shirts. The collars end up scalloping after a few months even with delicate wash and no dryer.
