COOLMAX® is lightweight, soft and stretchy - made from 100% polyester fibres, it move sweat away from the body to the outer layer of the fabric
woven for strength and no-bulk performance, this four-way stretch fabric moves with us and stays out of our way
why we made this
When it comes to shorts, our needs are simple: we want them to be lightweight and comfortable. We designed this pair out of sweat-wicking fabric with plenty of stretch and cut them generously through the leg and rear. The built-in liner to helps keep our 'stuff' secure when we run.
fabric + features
woven for strength and no-bulk performance, Swift Ultra fabric is engineered to feel light and keep you covered
soft, comfortable COOLMAX® liner is breathable and dries quickly
let off steam through the narrow mesh panels at the side and rear of the short
cinch the drawcord at the waist for a proper fit
deep side pockets plus a secure zipper pocket for all your stuff
flat seams help keep your jewels from getting chafed
Best fit - Curious about the stitching quality
These shorts are fantastic. I'm in half marathon training, and they are the only shorts that I will wear when I run.
The fit is perfect. I'm about 6 ft 2, 215 with a college sports background - The liner accomodates for larger legs, and these shorts literally flow with your body when you run.
Only negative about these shorts - It seems like the stiching is starting to slowly (and I mean slowly) come undone. If I'm dropping $70 on a pair of shorts, I'd love for them to hold up for years. Lots of fraying, which makes me wonder if these are going to unravel at a socially unacceptable time.

These are my husband's go to shorts. He uses them for yoga, running, and boxing. Before he discovered Lulu, he was having a hard time finding shorts with the boxer brief liner. Now his drawer is full of tons of these shorts :)

my new favorite shorts
sup bros, I was pretty much hating on LuLu for a long time and thought only weak chumps and yoga dudes that walk around telling people to "namaste" all the time wore it. My brother got me some pace breakers for chistmas and theyre freakin sick. i got an xl in the camo version and couldnt be happier. They have more of a fitted fit with a convservatively tied drawstring, but dont get in my way when I squat (full range gents), deadlift, RDL, etc., etc. I'm 5'10" 212 and wear a 34 in most pants. LuLu please send me another pair for writing a review!

Great all-purpose shorts
I have used these shorts in everything from hot power yoga to running a half marathon. I also go to Hawaii a couple times a year, and these are great to slip on after getting out of the water and on with your day. My first pair is in white, and I just ordered a second pair in blue/frond (Go Seahawks!) for my upcoming backpacking trip to Bali. I usually wear around a 32-33" waisted jeans with a 30" inseam, and I have a big butt (or that's what my wife tells me).

I have had my shorts for about 6 weeks now and the liner has ripped from every direction! I only run lightly, not a big cardio guy. So there is no wear and tear being created from light jogging. I just don't get how the liner starts to rip especially for taking care of them like the "Educators" say.
TOTALLY NOT WORTH $64! I use my Under Armour shorts.. 1/2 the price and last WAY longer. They don't unravel either. Sorry Lulu

Kinda Good/Kinda Bad
I own these shorts in several colors, and some of the colors have a much better texture to them than others. The solid basic colors (black, white) seem to be made of a higher quality, more comfortable fabric, while other pairs are just plain uncomfortable. Any of the fabric that has a slight pin-striping are rough and not worth owning (I own a pair of bright blue, bright green and dark gray). I don't know why they use different fabrics within the same line of shorts, but there is a big difference in the quality. With that being said, I own multiple pairs in black and absolutely love them. They work well for almost any athletic activity; from wrestling practice to running, yoga and weight lifting.

Wish they lasted longer, but easy to repurpose
I bought maybe these shorts back at the end of summer/beginning of fall 2013. I also have probably ~10 pairs of tech shorts either being pacebreakers, light as air, or the north face running shorts. I rotate them regularly, gentle cycle, air dry, etc. I liked the black pair especially since those were made in USA when I was buying them anyway.
Unfortunately I realized today that the liner to my favorite pair (the black ones) died. The material got a bunch of holes in it so I ended up just cutting the liner out and now they're *linerless (lol). The rest of the pockets are sewn separately so pulling off the liner doesn't affect the function of the shorts other than the obviously missing liner.
I'm not sure what this 5 year guarantee thing is that lulu lists, but i'm sure interested if pacebreakers are designed to last the full five years or just a season or two :P
Still my favorite line of shorts, but again, I'm hoping this isn't a trend for the rest of my shorts otherwise things are about to get pretty expensive.

Best Workout Shorts
I will start with the two reasons I gave 4 stars and not 5:
1) The boxer brief picks up odor. For the life of me, I can't understand why they don't use Silverescent technology in the briefs of these shorts. The fit, feel, and comfort are unbeatable for me, but they will get smelly (unlike my collection of Metal Vent Tech SS shirts.)
2) The sizing can be a little inconsistent. I have 4 pair of these shorts and two of them seem to be a softer and thinner outer shell, while the other two are a little more 'rigid'. Both are comfortable, but the softer ones seem to be a little longer, and the stiffer ones seem to be a little shorter. having said that, all my pairs are large and I like the way they all fit in spite of the fact that two of the pairs fit longer than the other two.
On to the good stuff...
These are hands down the most comfortable, best cut, good looking, functional shorts I have ever owned. The length and shape are perfect (granted, this is a personal preference and depends largely on your build), they look awesome, and they work. I played three sports through Jr. High and High School, I rock climb, practice yoga, play basketball, power lift, and do outdoor cross-training and group fitness. I have worn a LOT of athletic gear. No short or brief I have ever worn even come close to the comfort, fit and functionality of these shorts.
The zipper pocket is great, and is in fact one of my favorite features. It fits my iPhone 5S perfectly, or holds my keys and locker key or gym card... whatever you have that you don't want to fall out.
The shorts dry out FAST and help keep me cool during a workout. I practice hot yoga in them (and I am one of the 'more sweaty' practitioners you will see in the room), they are absolutely drenched when I am done. Even when wet, they move well and breathe. And they dry out fast, making them easy to put away when I get home, rather than having to dry them out before they can be used again.
I have been wearing any given pair of my Pacebrekers 2-3 times a week for a solid two months. I have noticed some minor pilling of the fabric near the zipper pocket (not noticeable unless I'm trying to spot it, and not bad enough to bother me), but other than that they have held up extremely well. They seem to be durable and long lasting, which is great.
For reference I am 6 feet tall, 200 lbs., muscularly built with long legs, a short torso, and a so called 'hockey butt'. These shorts sit a couple inches above me knees (which I LOVE) and they are fitted enough to handle my booty and still fit my waist. I typically have to size up to a 36 in. waist in order to get shorts to fit my rear, then they are long and baggy. The Pacebreakers remedy the situation for me.
Great job on these shorts Lulu, please make the liners Silverescent.

great gym/yoga shorts
These are arguably the best work out shorts I have ever had. The interior and exterior materials are comfortable and have the right amount of stretch. It doesn't really matter if you're at the gym working on your bench press, but they really shine on leg days and yoga sessions.

Best Feeling Ever.
This is a true wonder. Great feeling, super light, and you never have to worry about forgetting your boxers.
Just tight enough on the quads, without looking like I'm out of a street basketball game.
Great choice of colors too !
