The Towel

Don't be nervous, this towel was designed to combat sweaty palms.

why we made this

We get sweaty palms for plenty of reasons. Trying a new yoga pose shouldn't be one of them. We designed this towel out of absorbent, grippy microfibre so we can kick up into handstand without slipping. We made it long enough to cover an entire yoga mat in case we have to borrow one from the studio.

key features

  • absorbent and quick-drying for your sweaty classes
  • slip-resistant so you don't involuntarily do the splits
  • the microfibre provides a soft, absorbent layer between you and your mat

tech specs

  • designed for: yoga
  • fabric(s): microfibre
  • dimension: 71" long x 26" wide

The Towel 2.9 5 37 37
No bunching, but possibly mat-dependent? I did a lot of research on hot yoga towels before purchasing The Towel. Bunching seems to be a common concern across brands. I was a little deterred by several negative reviews here, but I have found no issue with bunching whatsoever. I did not have to wet the towel, as some have suggested doing. I should note that the lack of bunching might have to do with my yoga mat itself. I use an older Lululemon mat (circa 2005 - don't know the name) that is nubby textured (texture is slightly different on each side, but both look almost like the imprint of a fabric weave). I can only speak to my experience with this one particular mat, but wonder if its traction plays a key role in preventing bunching. In any case, I love the way this towel holds up to movement, how absorbent it is, the velvety soft texture, the pretty colour options, and the compactness. I'm quite pleased with it and may purchase another. May 17, 2013
Towels move and gather I love lululemon, but these towels were a huge disappointment for both me and my daughter. We both practice hot yoga, and these towels do not stay put and bunch excessively, even when water is applied before using. The towels are very distracting because I have to keep fixing them. I ended up just using my mat until I purchased other towels to replace these, and these don't move. May 14, 2013
I couldn't believe how great this works! I used the towel over my mat during a vinyasa class today and it stayed put the entire time. I love the soft fiber feel under my hands and feet (as opposed to the sticky feel of the mat). I'm happy they have so many colors because I am addicted. Definitely recommend!! May 11, 2013
L.O.V.E!! Bought this to use for Bikrim and I'm obsessed! Never had a problem with slipping and has great absorbency! Definitely buying more!!! April 24, 2013
Love This towel is perfect with The Mat. I also have the Manduka Equa towel for hot yoga which I am constantly tripping over. The Towel is exactly what I needed plus it dries in half the time and is almost half the price. I'm ordering more! April 22, 2013
awesome towel! This towel work really well for me during hot yoga. I dont find that I am slipping at all. I have 3 towels all in different colors! :) April 10, 2013
No love for the towel I really wanted to love this towel, but even when I wet it I found it to be very slippery. I ended up switching to The Mat for hot yoga class (which I love). April 10, 2013
Disappointed! :( I have been looking for a towel to do exactly what "The Towel" was made for but this is truly not the "The Towel". I just bought it yesterday and I have used it twice at hot yoga. I even wet the front and back with water but it still slips and bunches to the point where I had to remove it all together today. I have The Mat and I love it but the towel is going back. I lay the towel over my mat and dampen where my hands and feet are going to be- just sprinkling water from my water bottle on the towel before class starts. It usually doesn't move around too much during class, although I sometimes have to readjust the towel from repeated chaturangas or Warrior II poses. It definitely works, although now looking at The Mat so I won't have to deal with having a towel in the first place. April 3, 2013
LOVE LOVE LOVE DON'T LET THE BAD REVIEWS FOOL YOU!! I used this towel during my HOT yoga class this evening, and it was AWESOME. It stayed put and was grippy! The lady at the lulu counter gave me the HINT of pouring a bit of water on the top and bottom parts of the towel onto the mat and it helped it stay put my whole class. I found it was grippiest in the wet spots. This towel was amazing. Works great with a non Lulu mat as well. March 28, 2013
