The Towel 3.3 5 110 110
Amazing! I've just started practicing hot yoga for a few month and had been using just a regular towel or a beach towel until I bit the bullet and bought this towel. I bought it because of the pattern and because it took up less space in my bag. I did NOT slip on this towel at all. I usually do when I'm on a regular towel. This towel is so absorbent. Grows on You I purchased this towel about six months ago at my local store as an impulse buy and it has exceeded my expectations. By way of background, I have used several major brands towels available on the market (i.e., Gaiam, Manduka and YogiToes). This towel has unique advantages relative to other yoga towels: 1. The Fabric is very light weight and folds very small when dry 2. It absorbs a huge amount of fluid for its weight 3. It is reasonably grippy 4. It holds up over many rounds of laundering 5. The price is reasonable I use this towel for Bikram yoga and have yet to try it for hot Vinyasa. I think it represents a very solid value for hot hatha practitioners and I would buy another one without hesitation. One quirk of this towel - when it is wet, it can make a squeaky noise when rubbed by your foot or other body part. So you might literally be a Squeaky Wheel in your yoga class - enjoy! Too slippery I do hot vinyasa flow a few times a week and was looking for a great towel to absorb my sweat and keep me in place. I love lulu stuff (my closet is pretty much half full of their clothes and I always use their mats), so I just assumed that this would be the best towel I could get. Instead, it bunched up and caused me to slide around during my practice. I ended up pulling it off of my mat and finishing class with plain old white rags that the studio provides. I won't be taking this towel with me to class anymore. :-( November 21, 2014
Best towel for hot yoga I've been doing hot yoga for years and this is my favorite towel by far. I read that others slipped on the towel. This is a problem I've had with all towels, but less so with this one. When you get to class just sprinkle a bit of water at the spots where your hands and feet land. It doesn't take much and it'll keep you from slipping. It's soft and washes up very well. Buying my second one. November 5, 2014
Not as grippy as I hoped Pros: towel is soft and the floral print is GORGEOUS. Washes very well and holds up. Cons: Bunched up during my flow and after a couple washes has lost grip. I'm going to use a detergent without fabric softener to see if that makes a difference for grip. But for the cost, I was hoping it wouldn't shift and bunch. I have the lulu mat and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. Frankly I have more grip in my downdogs and warriors without the towel. I'll update after a new wash to see if that changes anything. For the hefty cost of a towel, I would expect more grip. I have a yogitoes and that was $10 less, really almost $20 less but I got my particular one on sale. I'm on the fence of whether return this towel for not meeting expectations. My coworker has a lulu towel from back when they paired with manduka and loves it. But this one is definitely thinner and less grippy. November 4, 2014
Love this towel It is so much softer than other version. I love it. I take it to hot yoga. Not sure why there are complaints, it's perfect, so soft, keeps me from slipping, and is absorbent! You gotta have it! October 17, 2014
quite disappointed I started doing power yoga and was slipping all over my mat. I realized everyone in my class had a towel (yogitoes), and so I wanted to buy one. I happened to be a Lululemon buying pants when I saw the towels with super cute patterns. Problem solved: bought a mat. However, now I realize why even though everyone in my class wears Lulu clothes, no one uses their towel: IT IS NOT GOOD. I was so disappointed with my towel: it slips, it bunches, it makes me come out of poses to adjust the mat. I even stopped using it and have paid $3 per class to rent a yogitoes mat from my studio. DON'T GET THIS TOWEL!! Such a waste of money :( October 16, 2014
Sub par towel I just used this towel a couple of days ago and I'm disappointed because it got quite slippery about half way through a yoga class. It seems that as I sweat, the towel got more slippery. So unfortunately, the last few downward dogs did almost turn into nose dives. I'm going to give it another try because I really like lulu's products, but as of now, I'm giving it a fair rating. BTW the worse part is, I got this as a gift in September and did not open it until October and probably can't return it if necessary. October 11, 2014
Nice... but was lead in the wrong direction I was wanting to purchase this towel in the plush petal black ghost patter. But I only wanted it if both sides had the pattern. I contacted an educator on the online chat to ask. She informed me that it did have the pattern on both sides. I went ahead and ordered it. It arrived the other day and when I opened it it was not double sided. It is a nice towel, and feels great. Just sad that it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. October 3, 2014
Best for Bikram I believe this mat towel is best for Bikram yoga. It absorbs all the sweat and it doesn't get all bunched up in any of the 26 postures. I cannot see doing downward dog on this though, it is too smooth to keep your hands and feet in one spot. I prefer using jade yoga mats for any other type of yoga, its super sticky and keeps you in place. September 29, 2014
