The Mat 3mm
I am a HUGE fan of Lululemon and I love absolutely everything that I have purchased from them in the past until I bought this Mat.
There is an awful odour to this mat that quite frankly is distracting! I was sceptical to purchase it because I found it quite pricey and now I am more than disappointed. I am hoping it can be returned.

After Much Deliberation, So Disappointed
After reading numerous good reviews of this mat, I decided to go ahead and splurge on the this pricey mat. I was so excited to bring it to class and try it out. Wow, I am so disappointed.
I was surprised to find that the mat is so dry and sticky, that it actually chafes my skin. Every time I used it, I kept hoping that it would get a little softer. Unfortunately, the mat is so hard that my arms, elbow and legs get really chafed. Chafed to the point of bleeding!
Needless to say, I am not enjoying using this mat, not do I plan on using it in the future. I am really disappointed in my first and probably only Lulu mat. I would not recommend this mat.

I'm absolutely LOVING this mat. It's a perfect length, and the material makes it for a great grip and very easy to hold poses even if my hands get sweaty. I love that the mat is stable and does not move around either on the floor while I move. It's great and the smell wears off eventually, just cleaning with soap and water helped a lot.
I would recommend a carrying strap for this just for convience. I got my boyfriend the BIG mat at the same time, and definitely need a strap because of the size and weight of them.
Overall really satisfied and would get one in every color ;)

Great look, terrible performance
The great thing about Lululemon is that almost all their products look great and perform even better. I don't have an article of clothing or a bag that isn't absolutely amazing.
Until this product. My old yoga mat had a rip, and was purple, and my girlfriend said I really needed a new one. I bought this mat since I prefer having more ground feel/stability vs padding while doing yoga. Unfortunately this mat is so slippery I can barely make it through a class.
I can get over the weird rubbery smell, but when it doesn't allow you to do yoga and it's a yoga mat, there is clearly something wrong. I tried both sides of the mat, but no difference. It also didn't seem to really matter if I was sweaty or not, it just seems the mat doesn't hold a grip when there is a lot of pressure applied. As soon as you get into down-dog, the hands just start sliding forward, it definitely makes the yoga harder...
Disappointed in my first sub-par lulu product and sadly this will now just be collecting dust, since it's not worth giving away to a friend that's new to yoga or anything.
Save your money, or spend it on other lulu merchandise instead.

I like it!
I got this mat in black from my local store, and it has really worked well for me. First off, it's beautiful! Also, It is very long and I find that it is really grippy. A lot of times when I do bridge pose I find my hands slipping out. I don't have that problem with this mat! It stays put for me. As for the smell, I just left it hanging over a bannister in my house for a week and it doesn't smell too bad anymore. Just a natural rubber smell.

I was pretty disappointed with this mat. I went to the store right before a hot yoga class to invest in a mat. I found that the sales associate was extremely unhelpful. I originally wanted to purchase the 3mm Mat in black but they said that the black was not an option Lululemon had created, which now I see is not true because you can clearly buy it online. Instead of letting me know I could purchase it online she tried to convince me to buy the more expensive 5 mm Mat in black. I did not however want a thicker mat because it is heavier and I explained that to her and then she told me I could just buy the yoga strap, once again a more expensive unwanted option. I settled for the 3 mm in purple, a fine color, but what she did not tell me was how slippery and not appropriate for hot yoga this mat was, even though I let her know that was the purpose.
I've resorted to renting out the studio's mats instead.

I originally bought the regular Mat. I take public transportation so I felt that the regular mat was too heavy to carry around and returned it. I was reluctant to purchase this one though, because of all the bad reviews. I saw it in a gorgeous Angel Blue colour and just decided to take the plunge. So far I love it. No slipping, no buckling like the reviews mentioned below. If you don't mind the thinner mat, I think it is totally worth the money. The only con is the smell. It has an awful smell, though this one didn't smell as bad as the Regular Mat.
I have a more in-depth review on my blog!

I was conflicted on getting this mat due to the reviews. So happy that I choose this mat. Have also gotten so many compliments on my mat (Color: Dark Green). It has an excellent grip, which was my main concern due to sweaty hands. It's also perfect for on the go. I commute on the bus and it's perfect.

Love this mat! It is super sticky and i never slip when i'm using it. I do corepower vinyasa and sculpt classes and i am absolutely obsessed. The mat definitely has a sort of chemical smell, but that doesn't really matter to me. Also, not a huge amount of cushion, but the fact that I don't need to use a towel and it stays so sticky makes this mat totally worth it.

Love love love love!
I can't say enough good things about this mat. I teach and practice hot power yoga at CorePower and I was really struggling with my Manduka mat, even with a yogitoes towel it was not the best. A lot of other yogis have the lulu mat and I had heard great things, so I bought one. I tell my students all the time that this mat has changed my life! It is SO sticky. I sweat a ton and I never slip and don't need to use a towel with it.
I heard it would be stinky at first, so after purchasing it I layed it out at home for a few days (and just used my old mat) and now it doesn't smell at all.
It does get a little scuffed up, but they mostly go away when I wash it, and it's a really small price to pay for how sticky, thick, and overall awesome it is. I'll never use another mat.
