Bad Experience, Not Worth It
I have had this mat for less than a month in green and like prior comments have stated it stains easily and looks gross. It allegedly disinfects, but it doesn't appear that way.
The sales person seemed confident in selling me this mat seeing that I strictly do hot vinyasa, but there is no grip and I keep slipping interfering with my practice and messing up my form.
I had a way better experience with my Gaiam, just goes to show how it's not always about the name brand to prove it's true quality.

After years of (ab)use, my previous mat (Adidas) had issues with the surface layer peeling off and I needed a replacement. After long consideration to pay this much for a yoga mat I decided to go for it.
Initially, the smell was terrible, but after I left the mat outside for a full day I could use it the next day and the smell was not too bad. The smell is getting less with every session.
I was really surprised how much grip the mat offered and what a difference it makes in my practice. It is really amazing, since I teach two cardio classes prior to the yoga session and often I start my class dripping in sweat. With my old mat I was constantly slipping and looking for dry areas to stand on. Now I can just focus on my practice and the mat feels really comfortable.
After class I clean it with water and dry the surface. I leave it rolled-up with the top layer outside for the next session. I don't have the space at home to unroll it.
What do you recommend for storage?

I purchased the periwinkle mat a week ago and have used it twice. The color is GORGEOUS however after only two uses there are marks all over the mat! I have washed it after each use with water and a mild soap as the directions indicate but the marks are still very visible.
I would suggest getting a dark color, the bright colors are awesome but at this rate I will not use the mat longer than a month. I will say that all other aspects of the mat are great.

This mat is amazing. I mainly do hot vinyasa and I was really having trouble with my other mat slipping like crazy. So I decided to go for this mat and I am so glad that I did. In downward dog my hands are pretty solid even after a lot of sweating. The only times I ever have issues is when i go from my elbows to my hands but just a quick swipe of the towel fixes that problem very easily. The mat is very absorbant and it has a little bit of a weird smell at first but it goes away after a little while especially if you clean it regularly.

Super Slippery - Disappointed :-\
I really really really wanted to love this mat. I bought 2, one for me and one for my boyfriend as a gift. I love the thickness. It's great for my knees. To my great disappointment both mats have turned out to be super slippery. I've tried cleaning them in the recommended ways. I went into my local store and asked the clerk and they said that there was nothing they could do. I'm bummed about the mats and the customer service.

i purchased the mat about 6 months ago on a recommendation. i loved it from first use, but as i increased my frequency of practice i noticed that my satisfaction with the mat greatly decreased. initially, i loved the grip on the mat?i never slipped! also, the padding was great. however, after months of use it has become super slippery. to the point where i can't even hold down dog due to slipping. this is beyond frustrating. i clean my mat regularly with water, lemon juice and baking soda and i allow it to dry fully before use. not sure what to do.

Wears out quickly
I actually really loved this mat when I first bought it, but it only took about 4 months to start wearing down.
I noticed that it became a bit more slippery and that even the simplest of poses would stretch it. And now the grippy side is starting to separate from the cushion side at the corners.
I'm wondering if maybe I bought a faulty mat? As an expensive mat, I'd hope it could last longer... I do love how big it is compared to other mats out there, so I don't really want to give up on it.

Disappointing after all
When I first bought The Mat I was in love. The thickness and grip was 100 times better than the many cheaper mats I had previously tried. However, after about a couple of months The Mat already seems to have stretched out and lost some of its durability. The color is also starting to become blotchy and fading in some areas. Obviously wear and tear is expected, but when I only practice about once a week I would expect it to last a little longer than it has.

Giving up and moving on
I've had the mat, which I received as a Christmas present, for a few years now. I was really excited as I was looking for an upgrade from my run-of-the-mill Gaiam mat. I tried really hard to like the Lululemon mat, but this is the end of the road. At first the smell kept me from using it. Now the smell is gone, but there's not enough grip. I've tried using the smooth side and the rougher backside, but no luck. Also the mat is just too hard. I might as well practice right on the wood floor. I'm giving it away and moving on to another mfr. It's too bad.

The Mat was my very first lululemon purchase, and I was so excited to finally have a decent, durable mat. I was surprised and satisfied with the size of the mat; it is slightly bigger than the average yoga mat. It also provides a great cushion and for this reason, it is especially great for handstands and crow variations, etc.
However, I am really having trouble enjoying The Mat because of the rubber smell. In lululemon's defense, the packaging does warn of this smell and provides some solutions, such as washing, hanging the mat to dry, etc. But, I have found no relief whatsoever. In fact, it seems to be getting more intense. I really needed a mat that I could use for hours at a time. Now, I have trouble using the mat at all. Every time I touch it, despite having washed it repeatedly, my hands and body reek of the rubber smell. When I leave my mat in my car (which usually is not for long), my car smells like a tire. It is unbearable. The material is less than ideal.
The Mat is also reversible. But, it is kind of tricky. If you use the black side that has more cushion, and you aren't careful that there isn't anything underneath your mat on the other side, it will puncture the other side. So, I feel restricted to one side of the mat.
For these reasons, I have trouble recommending this mat to my friends. It does not seem to be worth the price or the frustration of washing, drying, and lugging the thing around.
