why we made this

We designed these boxers to be snug with a bit of stretch so when we're practicing our slam-dunk we don't worry about bouncing junk. We made them out of wicking COOLMAX® fabric that dries quickly so we can work up a sweat without worrying about the extra weight.

Used to be the favourite...not any more I bought a pair of these for my boyfriend in February 2010 (the sweet comic book ones...) and they instantly became his favourite boxers. He's a fairly athletic guy with an athletic build, being in the military he's active and moving throughout the day. He has probably at least 10 pairs and this is all he wears....until recently. Any pair bought in the last year or so has fallen apart or is going to pretty soon. He gets the same holes others have posted about in these reviews, the ones in between the legs. The quality has declined. lululemon can say that nothing has changed but the fact that these reviews keep stating the same issue means that yes indeed, the fabric quality has declined. He has pairs that are a few years old that are still in good shape, yet ones we bought recently have already deteriorated. I'm lucky, I went to a store and they replaced a pair, but I'm embarrassed to keep going back when pair after pair falls apart. I keep hoping the quality will improve, but they have not. He loves the fit of them and the fun colours are pretty cool, but sorry, until the quality improves we won't be purchasing any more, and I've now stopped recommending them to friends. Holes! I'm glad I finally read these reviews. My husband has been wearing the game on boxers for 2.5 years now. He wears them as his "everyday" boxers. My husband has had 7 pairs, and none of them has lasted any more than 2-3 months before developing holes in the crotch area. We thought maybe it was him, but after reading the reviews, we realize maybe it is not. He initially started with only 2 pairs, after those developed holes, we thought maybe he was just wearing them too much, so he added more to the rotation, but the same thing happened... holes. $24 is a lot to pay for a pair of boxers that will only last a couple of months before getting holes in them. Formerly best briefs - now holes after 3 washes I have always championed the quality of lululemon, and have converted many of my friends to understanding why it's worth paying the high tag for a lasting, outrageously comfortable product. Sadly, that is no longer the case with their briefs. I've been wearing these briefs exclusively for years. About a year and a half ago, I noticed that all my newer pairs would get holes after only a few washings. I live in NYC, so I have the benefit of being near several brick and mortar lulu stores. I went to three different locations to inquire, and all three claimed they had never heard of the problem before. It's clear from these reviews that that's simply not true - many have complained about cheaper quality and holes. Now, not only am I disappointed in the declining quality of my favorite briefs, I am surprised at the lack of candor with which the problem is being handled by the company. May 3, 2013
Holier like thou Thought I was the only one with holes in the rear seat/crotch area - had me worried. I bought multiple pairs after the first couple of pairs were so comfortable. Now every time I reach for a pair I find another hole. I have thrown out 5 or 6 in the last month. I was actually buying some tonight when I read the reviews. I will admit I have not had a problem yet with the second generation (no double layer of cloth in front crotch). I'll wait to buy some more while I want and see if these hold up better. Another downgrade in quality My husband loves these or at least he used to. LLL has recently changed the fabric to an inferior quality that is scratchy and flimsy. He can't wear these new ones for running because they are too itchy. It's "Game Off" for LLL until they return to their earlier quality standards. April 15, 2013
Another complaint I have purchased these underwear for the last few years. As other reviews have stated, the quality has been in a constant decline. I recently ordered 5 pairs and they are not at all to the standard they used to be - at all. The fabric is scratchy, thin, and lacks the double layer design it used to. The fit is still great, but the quality is just not what is used to be. IMHO - not worth the premium price. April 4, 2013

Quality issues are true I have purchased these for many years and wear them exclusively as well. Like many others I have seen the quality decrease over time. Not only does the material seem thinner, there used to be a double layer of material in the front that is now just a single layer of material. They also seem to be continually experimenting with where to put the waist band seam. For such a high priced item I really don't expect to keep seeing the quality drop. Maybe if you've never bought them before you will enjoy them but when I compare the current to the older briefs it is very disappointing. March 26, 2013
Not great support I have a couple pairs of these and as much as I'd like to say I love them...I just don't. I find the sizing also confusing. I'm 6' 184 and generally wear a 33 or 34 pant and usually a large in underwear (I don't like mine too tight.) I bought a size large in these and my junk is literally swimming in them. I agree with another reviewer that these seem to have been designed by a woman....there's no pouch to hold you in. I really wanted to get the inkwell color, so I went to a store and tried a pair as they're non returnable, and agree with several reviewers that the fabric is now not as soft and more scratchy than before. Boxers for life I have 11 pairs of these boxers and wear them exclusively. I wear them for every day use, not gym or run and I hang them to dry because I want them to last as long as possible. They are life changingly comfortable. I have not had a quality issue with any of them thus far. March 19, 2013
