Favorite shorts in the world
I'm very athletic from marathons, to cycling, to urbanathelons and tough mudders! These are by far my favorite shorts in the world. The lining keeps everything in place. The pockets are just right. The material speaks for itself. I would love more colors than black and gray or white. I even went to your canadian website to purchase the chili colored ones, but they don't ship to the US! :( Your GEC is great asset but were unable to find any in blue. When will you get more colors for us color friendly guys? BTW, Friends think I work for Lulu since my wardrobe consists of mostly Lulu, but what can I say- you guys ROCK!

Love Responce
I think this short is the best thing ever! I used to wear all Nike Products and the only thing I were now of Nike is the shoes. Lulu is now my gear of choice. The only thing I would say is more colors.

So close to perfection...
I've been giving lots of feedback to various Seattle-area Lulu stores over the last two years, but I figured it's finally time to get some of my complaints typed out, so that you all may profit from my experience(s) with Lulu.
I've purchased three pair of these "Run: Response" shorts since April 2010...some bright green and bright blue ones back then, and a black pair in May of this year.
Generally speaking, they are amazing. My only complaints are with regard to fit, so here's my details:
5'11" 184 lbs 30 years old. Big muscle buns (really, I have THE hockey backside, except they ain't pads pushin the backside out: 41" around), muscly-er than average quads/hams (23-23.5" at three inches south of my groin), and a 34.5" natural waist (1" below belly button" and 37" around where I actually like my shorts/pants waist to sit (no, I don't "sag"; I just like a low-rise waist...). All three pair are size Small. Yes, you read right. The mediums were looser everywhere but the waist. Yes, this perturbed me from the get go, but I still ended up buying three pair. Why it's so hard to have ALL dimensions of the varying sizes ACTUALLY VARY, is beyond me. Like I tried on 3 pair of smalls AND three pair of mediums and the variance between the waists was less than 1/4" on all 6 of them. The heck? So, since I like a more "athletic fit" (saggy or "relaxed" crotch doesn't work for me when rock climbing...I need the shorts to FIT me.)
Also relevant: I typically use these shorts for (in order...) weight lifting and Crossfit, rock climbing (gym and out in da wild), and hiking. Ironically, I do NOT wear these for running. Way too long. I wear one of many other pair of Lulu shorts, usually the "Endorphin" or "Light As Air" shorts.
So, on to my complaint(s)...
THE WAIST IS TOO HIGH. I don't wish to persuade anyone to not buy these because of how I don't like how they fit on me, I'm just pointing out what doesn't please me, for my needs. I, at 5'11", am not short, but I DO have a short torso. Like I have a size "small" Osprey backpack because even the "medium" has the waist belt sit too far down on to my big, perky derriere. Why this is relevant to you, the prospective purchaser (and lulu designers), is that the 13" rise (Size Small - when measured from "actual crotch" to top of waist; 10.25" if you just measure from top of seam at gusseted crotch), is the smallest rise of any of the shorts I could wear (it could easily be argued that I "should" be in a Large), and it's STILL way TOO DARN TALL. When I'm doing "Angled Machine Leg Presses" or upside down situps or anything else that involves my stomach being compressed, the tall height of the waist (coupled with it's absurdly tight-compressing and idealistic elastic waistband material) is very uncomfortable, to me. I could see how a narrow-hipped bean-pole 6'3" dude with a long torso could LOVE these shorts, and in all fairness, those guys are out there (my best friend, for one), but he doesn't workout that much, let alone wear Lululemon clothes. I need these shorts with a lower rise (in the waist only; contour that sucker!!! The back is fine!) and...
A minor quibble, compared to the previous complaint, but the two pockets on the front should really be "slash-ed" a bit more. Having them that straight up and down, they just pucker when I squat/walk/move at all. If I'm standing still and sucking in my BUTT, they stay closed-ish. You needs some fit models with booty on them. Then you would see that the orientation of the slash pockets needs to be more at a 45 degree angle. All of us weight lifter and Crossfitter dudes squat and lunge and dead(lift)...buns are developed, ya hear? If Lulu only wants to sell to Yogis (which, I am too, just not in these shorts), then they can just use Yogi fit models, otherwise they need to allow for some glute and quad expansion and make the waist more tailored to use/style/general taste. HIGH WAIST ISN'T COOL OR FUNCTIONAL. Sorry, didn't mean to yell.
Also, is it that hard for you guys to find some studly, attractive male fit/photos models? I'm straight as an arrow, but it's gross looking at some of your dudes. You have hot girls in yoga pants, but weird looking dudes. Things were better last year. What happened?! No, I am not studly enough to be on your website, but there are plenty of studly dudes who look better with their shirts off. Search harder! :p
Respectfully but mildly frustratingly yours,
B from Seattle

Hubby loves 'em, more colors please!
I bought these for my husband nearly two years ago in solid black and he wears them all the time. The inner compression short stays in place while allowing the top layer to move with ease. They stretch more than enough so heavy squats aren't an issue, they're long enough that they cover what needs to be covered, but short enough that they don't catch on the knees while running, squatting or deadlifting. The biggest problem? Nearly every season they come in Black and some other crazy color! Please come out with some normal men's bottom colors such as Navy or Gray, as he doesn't want another pair of black ones (and I'd like to replace his worn-out UA shorts asap!). :-)

Great Yoga Shorts
Great fit and comfort. Use in a very physical practice and shorts stay loose and dry during and after the workout.

best running shorts ever
Really excellent. I prefer the longer liner over brief liners in most running shorts. Also good for yoga (though a bit short) gym, whatever. My favorite all around exercise shorts! Oh and the zippered key pocket is great!

Favourite shorts for running or lounging
I'm not usually a fan of liners but I love that they're spandex and not brief liners
I have 4 pairs in all sorts of colours. Perfect length and fit on me (medium). I use them for everything. Can't say a bad thing about them

Great Shorts
Love the flat seams. The cut is perfect for my body type, muscular, and I Crossfit in them. They're lightweight and great for full range of motion movements.

Very surprising short
I typically HATE shorts with a liner. The salesman at the Raleigh NC lulu store told me about the difference between these shorts and the Light as Air version. I also don't usually like pockets in my workout shorts. I can handle the zipper style pockets for a key or ID card but pockets for the hands are usually a NO-GO for me. I have to say that I am surprised with these shorts. First, the liner. I wore the shorts to lift weights and do elliptical cardio. The liner in these shorts is a thin bike short style and not the bikini brief style of the Light as Air version. I was unsure if this would provide any support but surprisingly, it did. It didn't feel like it was providing me support but I didn't have to 'adjust' myself at all during the workout. The positioning of the (hand) pockets makes them not bugle out either which I like. My only complaint would be using these to run. I went for a good run that same afternoon in the shorts and the liner was not really strong enough to provide running support for the package. There was a few adjustments made during the run but nothing too bad. There was no chaffing with my legs so that is a plus. So the question is, would I buy more of these. The answer is, YES! I like the styling and the function of the shorts. Like I said, didn't think that these would perform in my usual workout in the gym but they did. I probably would not run them but definitely would lift in them. The fit for me was pretty good too. They came just above the knees on me. I also liked the styling. There is something about the pockets that I now really like.

Best gym shorts ever
These are the most comfortable and best looking workout shorts I've ever owned. After finishing up a 30 minute cardio session wearing these and a simple (cheap) cotton t-shirt, I noticed the difference in my body temp almost immediately. Throughout the rest of my workout, my legs/lower body felt cool and comfortable, my upper body (in the cheap T), on the other hand, was soaked, hot, and generally uncomfortable. I can't tell you how much I loved the feel of these shorts durring my first workout with them and I can't wait to get a few of the metal vent t-shirts to go with them.
Love these shorts, the only thing I would change (if anything) is to move the pockets further out to the seams rather than more forward like they are now. Reaching into these forward facing pockets to grab your iPod can look a bit "interesting".
