Hiking, biking or a round of golf - whatever our sweat schedule for the day, we designed the Kahuna Short to back us up with durable, moisture wicking Ascent fabric. The material is so tough it might just last longer during the workout than we do.

Fantastic These shorts are great everyday wear shorts. I'd be wary of doing any intense crossfit wods in them though. I need an elastic waistband or drawstring for wods. The fabric is stretchy and won't fade in the wash. There's plenty of room for an athletic guy. The pockets have plenty of room so when you try to dig your phone out you aren't struggling. I'm only 5'8" so lulu altered the length for free too. I'm going to have these on all summer! May 13, 2013
Fantastic Short The Kahuna short is exactly what I expected, they have a great amount of stretch, feel light-weight, and the fit is great for a guy with a more athletic build. I have to say they probably fit 1 inch smaller than they say, I ordered a 34, fits like a 33. There is some nice flex to the short though and they come pre-shrunk so I wouldn't worry about it. I highly recommend them. Sad to see they have not restocked them on the site, I would also like to see a darker tan, all of their tans seems to be very light. May 11, 2013
Kahuna shorts good. Please add more colors. These shorts r the best fitting shorts I've ever had. The shorts & pocket material are cool as well - love the phone pocket too. Wish they had more cool colors like a brown & different shades of khaki. April 25, 2013
Not Quite As Good As The Core Shorts I bought 2 pairs of these in the store and both are great, but are clearly made of different materials. The "soot" shorts are heavier and look a bit more dressy while the plaid shorts are lighter weight more akin to board shorts. I bought them to wear for golf and they serve this purpose perfectly (great pockets and easy to move in). Though, I could not imagine working out in them at the gym as they suggest. I typically wear a size 32" and needed a 34" in these. Overall, I recommend them to anybody who is looking for a pair of non-gym shorts from Lulu. Next to the Core Shorts these are the best shorts I've tried from Lulu. April 18, 2013
Want to like it... The kahuna shorts are a solid everyday short, but wouldn't wear them for consistent gym work. The shorts are too restrictive in the groin/butt when down in a squat. Apparently, my hockey butt is bigger than normal. Add a little bit more space, and you got yourselves a pretty versatile short. March 28, 2013
Fabric all over the map. I recently bought my first pair of Kahuna shorts, having kept my shorts purchased from lululemon in the workout/running categories. But I thought I'd give these a try as an alternative to other brands I wear. I tried several different colors and found the fabric texture and quality feel so different across colors. I settled on the inkwell color which is made with a really nice thick stretch fabric that says quality. I am pleased with these, but wished they came in odd sizes as well as even, because I am a 33 and the 34 I bought is a bit big...but Ii can life with that. I passed on the black plaid color which was thin and cheep feeling. I don't understand why the fabric would be so inconsistent. March 20, 2013
Disappointed with the new length My husband lives in these shorts; he has 3 pairs from past years. I was excited with the new material and the solid black, so I ordered them online. When they arrived, they were 2.5 inches shorter in length! He wears a 36" (normally a 34" in other stores), and is 6'2", and these used to be the only Lululemon shorts that would be long enough for his style (to his knees). Why did you make the change? Kahuna I play hockey and wanted these for the Ickes butt and they kinda disapponted me with sizing. First of all the size 40 would barely fit half my hockey team. My thighs are bigger than most of these shorts ;) But seriously, size 40 is a size 36 is real life sizes. Even as a 38 I can't find a size in this short that works for me. I really love the material and style and am disappointed. Thankfully the shirts have been re-sized for xxl(even though length needs to be added) but now we need shorts. I have never heard so many people complain about sizes being way to inaccurate and small before. It's a shame being that Lulu has such high quality sports wear but such low quality in measurements.. As a pro athlete in hockey these would be things any company would value is listening to consumers and update these sizes to be realistic. Hence look at the kahuna and other shirts/shorts and xxl or size 40 is always the first sold out. Anyhow, sorry to vent but I am passionate about your clothing and really want to buy more but I have to be soo picky or else I will be buying things that barely fit because the sizes are shrunk down. Please make bigger sizes since we are athletic men whom stride ourselves in bigger faster stronger bodies and we also are ranging from 5'5 to 7' tall. I am 6'0 but still think shirts are short and kinda snugg in xxl and shorts are no bigger than 36 in real life. Anyhow, I still love lulu and will keep picking at clothes until I find the right fits for me or until you update total sizing to fit the men correctly. Love the LULU clothes, not the size. Awesome shorts I took this pair of short to a rainforest tour and to the beach and to a pool party. I most have worn them for five days straight. Plenty of room and durability. Wondering if you make them in pants? February 12, 2013
Sizing inconsitent Purchased these for my boyfriend for Christmas. Boyfriend and my brother are similar in size - brother has the grey in a 36 - they practically hang on him - so I got my bf a 34. Boyfriend is a 33 or 34 in regular pants (jeans etc). Turns out the grey and black are made with completely different material (even through they are both Kahuna shorts - exact same style). Grey shorts are thin and run big and black shorts are thicker and run very small! The black shorts are so tight in butt/crotch region - did not fit brother or boyfriend. Even had my dad who wears a 32 try them on and they were still too tight. Now I'm stuck with these shorts that don't fit anyone and they are all sold out of the 36's. So sad because these are a great looking short! Exactly what we were looking for - too bad the sizes are so inconsistent. DO NOT buy without trying them on first! December 31, 2012
