Woven for strength and no-bulk performance, this four-way stretch fabric moves with us and stays out of our way

why we made this

Core Short 4.2 5 133 134
Perfect Great fit, great stretch and wicking action, use for mat, cardio. January 25, 2015
different the previous versions My husband purchased two pairs of these shorts within the last 6 months to a year, so I was excited when a pair went on sale right before his birthday. Upon opening his gift he commented that they felt like a completely different material and the pockets had changed completely. He's not even sure if he wants to wear them, but because they were WMTM they are unable to be returned. Wish the website would comment when materials or features change from month to month. I prefer the new style Actually prefer the new style. I don't put my phone in the side pocket but my iPhone 6 plus fits fine in the regular pockets. Loved seeing some new colors come out other than black. January 21, 2015
great shorts, need new colors these shorts are awesome, but can you please make them in some cooler colors? A faded denim print would be really awesome! January 15, 2015
Perfect for any type of the workout Always after my practice on the ice(I'm a figure skater) Im working out.I love those shorts because the fabric, which fit really nice and I like working out in those shorts (I had two pairs). Also the color is really unusual, and when I do warm up before my competition everyone looking at me and asking about my shorts.I love those short and recommend it to everyone! What Are You Thinking...? I have at least six different pairs of the Core Shorts that I love, and recently picked up a new pair only to be very disappointed with the product I received. For whatever reason the side pocket was designed for a phone no larger than the iPhone 4 (released in 2010 and not sold in stores for years). For those of us that workout exclusively with our cell phones, these shorts are absolutely unusable. I have one of the smaller smart phones on the market (iPhone 5S) and it won't fit in any of the pockets, especially the pocket designed for the smart phone: the side pocket. If you have an even larger phone (Samsung, HTC, etc.) you will be even more discouraged by this latest iteration of the Core Shorts. I tried to return these, but because they were purchased "on sale" from one of local Lulu stores, they won't take them back. I have no idea why the designers messed with the greatness of original design in the first place, but now I am stuck with an awful pair of shorts that I can't use. January 3, 2015
Great for working out Those who run. Get the shorts hemmed. They are perfect for those who don't like a "basket" in their shorts. Although the seams ripped once, Lululemon fixed them instantly and reinforced stitching and have had no problems since. December 24, 2014
Listen to the customers Never thought I'd write a bad review but after trying two new pairs of shorts I'm wholly disappointed. I have a pair of old core shorts for every day of the week but trying the new patterns, and finding the new tech pocket, they were immediately returned. I have an original pair that fits the entire iPhone 6, some slightly older pairs that fit after stretching the pocket but with the new pairs it's impossible. Why exactly would you be making them this way? Lulu has definitely incorporated feedback and has, in the past, designed the clothing with tech savvy people in mind so it doesn't make sense. Bring back the tech pocket The changes to the core short are good and bad. The shorts still fit me well, and move nicely. However the small side pocket that used to be for a phone or iPod is now too small. I can't even get my iPod nano to fit in it. The change to the flat waistband was great, however I still prefer the old core shorts to the new. After reading many reviews on the changes, I found t interesting that instead of going back to the old deeper tech pocket, Lulu claims it is now a pocket for locker keys. Way to give your customers what they want. November 29, 2014
Not as good as their first version! When this short first came out, it was literally perfect. Fit was awesome, cell phone pocket was a nice compliment to the short and the overall expectation of what I thought of athletic shorts changed completely. I wound up buying 3 pairs. Then Lulu changed the style. The waist band is not the right fit for men. The original waist kept the drop of the material consistent all around the waist instead of bunching in certain areas where there are seams. The draw string is definitely an improvement with the plastic ends versus the the folded sewed end. The pocket for your phone is actually smaller and is a pain to fit in the pocket. The original one was easy to slip in and not worry about spending extra time trying to fit it in. Especially if you want to change the song or check a text. The patterns offered are much better this time around but the positives do not out way the negatives on such a short that was supposed to be functional. Fabric is great, but the structural changes are not up to snuff from what I expect. November 25, 2014
