why we made this

We designed these cross-functional shorts with seven thoughtfully placed pockets so we can store what we need and hit the gym, course or trail. The two secure zipper pockets in the front and a pocket built to accommodate our phone give us the freedom to go hands free and get outside.

Husband can't get anough of these shorts! My husband is obsessed with these shorts. He loves them for golf, wearing to look nice, but still have movement, be active, etc. He does not run in them or anything, but always prefers wearing them over kahkis, etc. The 2012 version are a slimmer cut then the previous year's versions and he likes these so much better. I can't wait for them to come back in stick this spring. Lulu - PLEASE bring in some navy/inkwell color for these shorts - that would be awesome since so many of your men's pieces have had navy/inkwell lately. Would be a great addition to the normal black, gray and tan that's been available in the past! February 23, 2013
Overall very pleased Like some of the other reviews, I found that the sizing runs a little small so definitely try them on before buying in your usual waist size. So far these shorts are great! The material feels really good and is slightly heavier than running style shorts, but still moves very well. I'd prefer them *slightly* longer but overall, they are a great fit. I'm 6'2" and the length comes just about to mid knee. February 9, 2013
Awesome I'm obsessed with Lulu's fabrics on my wife's clothes. They make the best clothing fabrics - period. I've always wanted to get some Men's gear for myself, but they are still trying to find their way with men's fitment. These shorts were my first purchase and they are simply awesome. I'm hesitant to do anything very physical in them, a little heavy and might not offer the greatest flexibility, but they are perfect for lounging & street wear & possibly some hiking. we love it too bad the pockets glue is breaking We love lulu and we buy a lot for us both (my husband and I). These shorts are beautiful and comfortable but after two months the glue in the pockets is decomposing so there is a tear between the pockets and the rest of the fabric. Important to mention that on the running shorts same thing happen - the glue is decomposing and the side line is separating from the pants. We are washing our sports gear in in cold water and dry it outside. overall - too bad a beautifully designed and comfortable expensive shorts are made with low quality ingredients November 26, 2012
great shorts I have all three colors of these shorts. 6'05, 245lb, CrossFit/ Weighlift 4-5 week. These shorts fit perfect and look flawless after months of usage. Length is great and material gives plenty of stretch when needed. Occasionally wear shorts out to dinner with no issue of them looking like "gym shorts". Add a NAVY color??? October 25, 2012
Disappointed in quality I love the fabric and fit of these shorts but as another reviewer stated the seams on the side pockets easily detach from the rest of the shorts and create an ugly hole in the shorts. For over $80 for a pair of shorts it's a turn off to the brand for this to happen after only a couple months of sporadic wearing. September 16, 2012
Side Pocket Rips I love how comfortable and breathable theses shorts are. They fit really well. However after at most 2 months of owning them, the side pocket detached from the short (see photo); there is now a hole for all to view my leg. I can't really think of any reason why other than the top of the pocket isn't sewn on but is instead fixed to the short by some sort of rubber-like material. August 29, 2012
like these, excellent for working out. They do fit tighter initially, but they stretch out a bit, for me they worked out to be a perfect fit. The length is just right, any longer the shorts would be getting caught on the knees, (when your working out). My only complaint is that the rise on them is too high, the rise of these shorts reminds me of the 90's pants style. Also a version of these in a pant, would be nice. thanks August 9, 2012
Best shorts I ever had The fabric is simply awsome. The fit is great altough be careful with sizing as they are made a bit smaller than expected. The zipper pockets are great innovation as they fit a credit card or keys without any risk of loosing them. The iPhone pocket works fine as well. I am planning on buying another pair and I certainly wish that the choice of colors be greater (Chip & Christine, I you read this). August 9, 2012
sizing off the 34" waste really fits like a 32". good quality material but the cell phone pocket is a liability, my iPhone falls out every time i sit down. July 19, 2012
