Urban Trekker Backpack 4.2 5 12 12
so many things to love Ok, overall I give this a 5-star rating: it's comfortable, functional, has a ton of features, is compact and sturdy and it looks good! I have it in black and its pretty clean cut. I'm in university and I use it for my job where I have to transport my laptop everyday and it's perfect! It only has a couple of flaws, as a few people have also commented (the chest strap awkwardly cuts across my 36C chest), and if you are smaller it could feel overwhelming because it's long, I am 5'9 and I think it's perfect though. I also love that it's expandable so the extra 2-3 inches are there when you need it! I don't find that the expansion looks weird at all. There are pockets everywhere, but there don't seem to be TOO many - and I actually like that there are separate, labelled pockets for your wallet, keys and a lined pocket for your sunglasses/phone since I'm pretty scatterbrained! I LOVE the padded laptop/tablet compartment that smartly has a sealed zipper! And there is a rain cover cleverly stashed in the bottom! I haven't tried out the yoga mat strap/ little mesh holder at the bottom but it seems to be a good design, with straps that tuck into the back so that they don't dangle around everywhere! I love all of the features - there's so many I could write about. Some things that I would change are adding elastics to the water bottle holders (doesn't seem that my taller, skinnier bottles fit the luxtreme well but holds by 32-oz nalgenes pretty well) I debated this backpack for a while and I am overall very glad that I got it and hope that it lasts for a long time! Good job lululemon! May 9, 2013
Durable bag, compact I am female and despite the negative reviews that other females gave, I think this backpack is perfect. It keeps everything I need (laptop, tablet, wallet, keys, cell phone, clothes, etc.) in a compact, durable bag that is quite comfortable for me when I wear it. I am 5'1, 100 lbs, but I don't have the issue of the bag overwhelming me like other reviews have said. I am very impressed with the quality. Mine has gone from Canada to Portugal and back, withstood 2 weeks of 1-hour commute uphill by foot, and still looks brand new. I love the yoga mat pocket because I can also stash my full-size tripod there. It's a very versatile, durable bag. March 24, 2013
zipper handle falls off!! I bought this bag back in Toronto over the holidays and have since moved to London UK, 2 of zippers handles fell off during my trip there within a month. I love this bag otherwise but am so disappointed... I brought the bag and receipt to the Chelsea showroom here and while the staff were helpful and took down my contact info, they never got back to me... A failure on two fronts in my opinion... product quality and follow through customer service. Lululemon you can do better!! March 11, 2013
I love this bag but it wasn't made to last I've owned many lulu bags before and the backpack I owend prior to this was the West Coast pack but I decided to buy this one because it was much smaller for days I had less gear to carry and I loved all the zipper compartments in the front. My only complaint is the quality of the zipper tags they just don't manage to stay on! I had this bag for less than a month and one of the zipper tags has already been lost (I set it aside from somewhere to try and repair it later but I lost that one). I brought this bag back to the store since it was within the 14 day time constraint and explained my problems with the item to the manager. She was willing to replace my backpack and I was pleased with the way it was handled. However, I'm now into the second month of using the same bag and the -exact- same issue has occurred. I'm not quite sure whether or not to donate or abandon my backpack at this point due to the frustration. I've never had this problem with my west coast pack that I've owned for over five years. Is anyone else having these problems? Or am I the only one who manages to end up with the semi-defective items? February 22, 2013
Do only men carry yoga mats? I've been searching high and low for a backpack that will carry my yoga mat so I can ride my bike to the gym and yoga. This would have been perfect but reading the other reviews put me off. It's not suitable for women. Yes some women like to use backpacks; yes some women ride bicycles; yes, women carry yoga mats too. I'm not very big, 5' tall. I only need a gym backpack that will carry my towel, my water bottle, my keys and my wallet, plus a strap and/or pouch for my yoga mat. If I bought this it would swamp me! So I agree with one of the other reviews. Where's the unisex model or the one designed for women? February 14, 2013
this better not be discontinued I see that the studio pack got a new color but this back is out of stock in black and no new colors. I seriously hope lulu is smart and restocks this backpack! to keep it short, since the other reviews are great: -functional and keeps you organized -not heavy on its own (light construction is appreciated) -definitely withstands subway commute torture February 11, 2013
now THIS is a backpack! DWR material is KEY! keeps everything dry (compared to the old cruiser backpack) along with the rain cover. I like the thought that was put into the product that the design is more ergonomic with better/easier access pockets. I would change the luxtreme sidepockets to perhaps include a drawstring or something...doesn't hold thinner water bottles. December 15, 2012
Nearly flawless Perfect pack for everything I need for work. I really love the streamline design, and it's excellent for my biking commutes. I do wish there was a unisex pack since the chest strap is in an uncomfortable position for the female carrier. November 22, 2012
A Backpack Worth Coveting But.... The previous three reviews all had valid exciting points to ponder and justify owning this backpack as almost a must-have. I myself first saw this in the Australian website a few months back and when I inquired when it will be offered in the American market, I was informed it was very close to being on its way. When it finally appeared in one of Chicago area stores, I just had to see it and try it on and needless to say, I fell in love with it that without hesitation, I conquered my covetousness about it and justified shelling $100 (after tax) for it. Naming this an "Urban Trekker" backpack hit it right on the nail. However, and this is where the "but..." comes in, just this morning, when I was editing the contents, I noticed the padded pocket where one can insert a "tablet" computer had a prominent rip on one side that it literally tore the material where it was sewn. Bummer! I'm keeping my hopes high that Lululemon could replace this (realizing that they only offer a return policy of 14 days after purchase) and not disappoint a loyal Lulu addict like me. I still highly recommend this backpack. November 11, 2012
Great Bag overall but designed for men, not women I love ALMOST everything about this bag. It is perfect for school to carry around my laptop, books, and lunch. It comes with a great built in rain cover (perfect for Vancouver) and the main reason I bought it was because of the yoga mat holder attached to it. I wanted a backpack that would allow me to carry my yoga gear while I ride my bike. The one thing that annoys me is that the chest strap (which is great for when I'm riding my bike) doesn't fit comfortably across my chest (34B) and the shoulder straps rub across the front of my chest. I have tried adjusting the straps but in order for the chest strap to sit above my breasts, the backpack would have hover over my butt (not comfortable while walking). I know this bag is in the Men's department, but come on....please make a unisex backpack. November 7, 2012
