So disappointed :( I just purchase this backpack three days ago for a trip. I was torn between this backpack and the Travelling yogini rucksack. I ultimately went with this one because it was a little bit smaller and fell in love with the fabric. When flying home two days later, carrying what I consider to be a light load; the backpack I found to be extremely uncomfortable. To be honest, I had my husband carry it 5 minutes after putting it on because it was so uncomfortable. My husband said it wasn't awful and hopefully it would break in. I am really alarmed after reading the comment below about it being great in the store when it was "EMPTY". I am not looking for any restitution, I am just extremely sad that being such an advocate of Lululemon (I am even apart of the R&D program) that I didn't think twice about taking off the tags. If I still had the tags and receipt I would be returning it for the Travelling Yogini Rucksack. Thank you for your time to read this review--any resolution to this unfortunate situtation is greatly appreciated. October 20, 2014
The weight of the world on my shoulders. I so so so LOVE all of my other LuLem products but this one. Feels good in store EMPTY. Tried so hard to love this bag for 8 months but gave up. I carry my books, Om bag and yoga mat by hand now. One text book and yoga mat hits comfort weight capacity. Pack is slightly heavy to begin with. Anything more your straps will begin to tear away from the pack at the top. Was not the all in one bag I was expecting. I only use this pack now when carrying my tank and skinny wills with nothing else in it. Struggling student who invested on what seemed to be a heavy duty and backed by the Lululemon seal product. Reversal of Expectation I had purchased this backpack for University for I was drawn to the design of having multiple pockets on the outside as well as the organization that it had on the inside. After only half a months of use, the inside lining of many of the pockets were tearing or getting caught in the zipper. My first though was that perhaps I had been carrying too much yet I was only maybe at half capacity. Looking at the price I thought that it would be much more durable and that it would last me at least a year. Needless to say I'm quite dissappointed with the bags performance. Now I have this backpack that is falling apart and that I can't use sitting in my closet. If you're looking for a long lasting product, I would advise against this one. September 26, 2014
Im a fan! I was apprehensive to order this bag because many woman did claim that this backpack was too big for a female. Personally I really love this bag and I'm 5'2 and 120lbs. I have woman's Northface backpacks that are practically the same size. There are pockets all over that I really enjoy and I like that there's a place to put my ipad and laptop. I do notice that it gets dirty so easily and its obvious but also its black so that's whats expected. September 20, 2014
Read this and you will understand I bought this bag when I first started university. I went through probably 7 bags in high school. It didn't matter how many extra book bags I had as well. I always managed to tear the zipper or a hole in the bag. After 5 years of university, of which included a motorcycle accident most recently, (the bag was on my back when I fell on it) this bag not only continues to hold all my books and help me finish all of my university classes. It may have even helped my health and prevented me from getting much more hurt than I actually could have. So would I recommend this bag to a friend. I would recommend this bag to my mother let alone my friend. August 12, 2014
Perfect for Gym and Quick Trips I had been using a Herschel Supply backpack leading up to this purchase. I'm a fan of Herschel's products, but I was in the market for a backpack with a more refined appearance and athletic functionality. I found what I was looking for with his bag. It is sufficient in size to carry what I need to the gym and for short getaways, its look is clean and masculine, and the ability to separate wet and dry clothing is great when I'm not heading straight home from the gym. The price is steep, but I intend to get my money's worth using this bag over time. The design could be enhanced by slightly increasing the width of the internal compartment. August 10, 2014
Zippers fail I got the former version of this backpack a couple of years ago at the store in San Francisco. It was great for about a year and a half for simple everyday use to and from the gym. Never carried too much stuff in it other than gym clothes and shoes. Unfortunately, the zippers of the main compartment failed. First one, and then the other. So now it is completely useless. I would expect this backpack at more than $100.00 would last far longer than around 2 years. Very disappointed and will not buy the new version. August 4, 2014
Exactly what I needed For months and months I searched for this exact backpack. The only thing I cared about was that it would hold my mat upright. It's comfortable to carry even with the weight of my computer, a change of clothes, and my billion pound yoga mat. My one complaint though is with the strap that goes across to hold the mat in place. Both ends are just hooked in, so without your mat strapped down, the strap itself is loose and can easily fall off. Which happened with mine. It went missing the first week that I bought the backpack, effectively rendering it useless for what I bought it for. Knowing the notoriously awful return policy, I went back to the store with little hope that they would help a brother out. That was essentially the case since, even though I purchased it less than a week ago, I used it, so they wouldn't help me. They were nice about it at least... Anyways, my strap wound up falling off at a friends and I wound up getting it back. But please, for future people, make an update so that the strap is permanently attached on at least one end. Give and Take with the New I owned the previous backpack that you sold, and loved it. So when I saw the Cruiser Backpack I was pretty much sold. love the material, the compartments, the higher cup sleeve. MAJOR downside, to me as a runner at least: the previous backpack that you made had TWO straps that held the bag down. One across the straps and the other at the base of the pack that held at the torso. It doesn't sound like much, but for a commuter who is very comfortable with running from place to place and wants the freedom of his hands to throw him forward, that hitch causes the Commuter to bob annoyingly up and down against my momentum, causing the bag to feel very very annoying when it's strapped to my back. It's so annoying, unfortunately, that I give it 3 rather than 4 stars. I really do hope that with the update you will bring the extra strap back in! July 18, 2014
take-it-anywhere backpack I love this backpack, it's probably the best that I've ever owned. However, there are some things that I wished was different. 1) The D-ring zippers, It just feels weird when opening/ closing the front zipper, it would probably be better with a O-ring. 2) I wish the water bottle pocket could have been a bit bigger, I take this bag to the gym sometimes, and I have to carry my Nalgene bottle because it won't fit. 3) The laptop compartment zipper could have gone a little more past than where it is right now it's a maneuver to get my 15" MacBook in and out sometimes.
