Read this and you will understand
I bought this bag when I first started university. I went through probably 7 bags in high school. It didn't matter how many extra book bags I had as well. I always managed to tear the zipper or a hole in the bag. After 5 years of university, of which included a motorcycle accident most recently, (the bag was on my back when I fell on it) this bag not only continues to hold all my books and help me finish all of my university classes. It may have even helped my health and prevented me from getting much more hurt than I actually could have. So would I recommend this bag to a friend.
I would recommend this bag to my mother let alone my friend.

Perfect for Gym and Quick Trips
I had been using a Herschel Supply backpack leading up to this purchase. I'm a fan of Herschel's products, but I was in the market for a backpack with a more refined appearance and athletic functionality. I found what I was looking for with his bag. It is sufficient in size to carry what I need to the gym and for short getaways, its look is clean and masculine, and the ability to separate wet and dry clothing is great when I'm not heading straight home from the gym. The price is steep, but I intend to get my money's worth using this bag over time.
The design could be enhanced by slightly increasing the width of the internal compartment.

I got the former version of this backpack a couple of years ago at the store in San Francisco. It was great for about a year and a half for simple everyday use to and from the gym. Never carried too much stuff in it other than gym clothes and shoes. Unfortunately, the zippers of the main compartment failed. First one, and then the other. So now it is completely useless. I would expect this backpack at more than $100.00 would last far longer than around 2 years. Very disappointed and will not buy the new version.

Exactly what I needed
For months and months I searched for this exact backpack. The only thing I cared about was that it would hold my mat upright. It's comfortable to carry even with the weight of my computer, a change of clothes, and my billion pound yoga mat.
My one complaint though is with the strap that goes across to hold the mat in place. Both ends are just hooked in, so without your mat strapped down, the strap itself is loose and can easily fall off. Which happened with mine. It went missing the first week that I bought the backpack, effectively rendering it useless for what I bought it for. Knowing the notoriously awful return policy, I went back to the store with little hope that they would help a brother out. That was essentially the case since, even though I purchased it less than a week ago, I used it, so they wouldn't help me. They were nice about it at least... Anyways, my strap wound up falling off at a friends and I wound up getting it back. But please, for future people, make an update so that the strap is permanently attached on at least one end.

Give and Take with the New
I owned the previous backpack that you sold, and loved it. So when I saw the Cruiser Backpack I was pretty much sold. love the material, the compartments, the higher cup sleeve. MAJOR downside, to me as a runner at least: the previous backpack that you made had TWO straps that held the bag down. One across the straps and the other at the base of the pack that held at the torso. It doesn't sound like much, but for a commuter who is very comfortable with running from place to place and wants the freedom of his hands to throw him forward, that hitch causes the Commuter to bob annoyingly up and down against my momentum, causing the bag to feel very very annoying when it's strapped to my back. It's so annoying, unfortunately, that I give it 3 rather than 4 stars. I really do hope that with the update you will bring the extra strap back in!

I love this backpack, it's probably the best that I've ever owned. However, there are some things that I wished was different.
1) The D-ring zippers, It just feels weird when opening/ closing the front zipper, it would probably be better with a O-ring.
2) I wish the water bottle pocket could have been a bit bigger, I take this bag to the gym sometimes, and I have to carry my Nalgene bottle because it won't fit.
3) The laptop compartment zipper could have gone a little more past than where it is right now it's a maneuver to get my 15" MacBook in and out sometimes.

Great backpack, really annoying zippers
I love almost everything about this backpack. It looks awesome, feels comfortable, is very durable, and has a ton of storage options. However, the zippers have a fatal flaw that really bothers me every time I use the backpack. The zipper handles are attached by D-rings, which normally wouldn't be an issue. However, the way that the zipper handles and the D-rings go together causes them to frequently bind and make it difficult to open the zipped compartment. This problem would have been easily solved if the bag had been made with O-ring zippers rather than D-ring zippers. The O would allow the zipper to move freely.
With this in mind, I went in to show the problem to my local lululemon. They agreed that it was an important issue, but told me that there was absolutely nothing they could do. Since lululemon sells other products with O-ring zippers, I'm not sure why this can't be taken care of.
It's really unfortunate to have a product that is so well made, and yet falls short in such an important area.

awesome products - offensive service
My wife is a lululemon addict for sure. I never understood it until she dragged me to my first (Bikram) Yoga class last Thursday. Class was phenomenal and Saturday I went shopping at the lululemon store on Halsted Street here in Chicago before our noon class began. My wife and I purchased over $600 in yoga gear (i got the black Cruiser Backpack, the Big Mat, the Loop, yoga shorts...she got everything else!). Monday I picked up the 'Namaste Yoga Tote Bonded' bag and some more shorts (gotta get the XXLs when I can find them - ordered some more online today! I'm almost addicted!) at the Rush Street store.
Lululemon service and atmosphere was great until today.
My wife took me to the 900 N. Michigan store this morning and I noticed the black Cruiser Backpack had black straps and not the blue straps like the one I purchased Saturday. I much prefer the all black and the salesman at the Halsted store didn't know it came that way (I believe he was new). When I mentioned exchanging it, the saleswoman treated us like we were thieves. She wanted to know if the tags were still on the backpack and if not we couldn't exchange it. I've never heard of such foolishness... The salespeople knew my wife when she walked in and this lady treated us like we were teenage flashmobbers. C'mon lululemon you guys can do better than that - I'm just starting with you but now both my wife and myself are developing a bitter taste for what's probably your flagship store in Chicago. Namaste...

This bag is good-looking, functional and durable. I wish it came in solid black or gray for the corporate scene, but I take it to work anyway.

Best Bag EVER
I will say I have had lots of gym bags and travel bags....this one though tops it all. I use this as my primary bag for all my crossfit gear and it works like a charm. I actually do not have enough stuff to put in all the pockets.
I am also using it when I travel and need to bring my laptop and tablets. It has room for everything and keeps it all compact. If you had the older version, this one is a bit shorter and sits like a true backpack!
Also, it has great "quick pockets" with magnetic buttons which make it easy to get everything. Absolutely love this bag, if you can get it, do it!
