The Hot (Towel) Mat
Was really hoping to love it...
I asked for this mat as a Christmas present and was so happy to get it! It seemed perfect for my hot yoga practice. It was great for the first few classes (I do about 3 classes per week) but since then I find myself having to re-adjust my mat several times over the course of the hour. It scrunches up a lot, even for my less active, gentler classes. I'm still using it for now but I don't think I will for much longer :(.

The first time I used this towel it worked great!! However... the second and third time I used it I almost slipped multiple times. I take power vinyasa classes and the 2nd and 3rd time I used this towel I was stressed the whole class worried I would fall on my face in downward facing dog. I ended up taking the towel off my mat halfway through class... I had so many hopes for this but it was nothing but dissapointing.

Not built for a long hot yoga class
Let me start off by saying that I have owned this mat for several months and have allowed myself to get to know it well. Also, I should mention that I use this towel mat over Lulu's The Mat for extra cushion, I sweat heavy during hot classes, and the majority of my classes are 90 minutes.
With that all said, this mat is everything that Lululemon says it is. Super absorbent, amazing grip, easy to wash/dry, etc. The towel mat has awesome grip that will make you feel ever so sturdy in your poses and after class it is a breeze to throw in the washing machine. The towel mat is a pleasure to have in class up until 45-50 minutes in.
Once the towel mat takes on too much saturation it begins to lose the amazing grip qualities that make it a great product. You will begin to slip in your downward facing dogs/crescent lunges and if you are on your back you will emit several embarrassing noises as you roll around. I hoped that the product would wear in after some consistent use and washes but my hopes were never fulfilled.
In a nutshell, if you don't sweat heavily this may be the perfect product for you, but in my case this towel will be reserved for room temperature yoga classes (which I never do) for now on because it is not designed for a long, hot yoga class. I wish I could've saved the cash I spent on this towel mat and bought an excellent pair of Lulu's Kung fu pant 2.0 which I will swear by in the hot room.

I wanted this towel mat because I was sliding all over my manduka pro mat. I practice hot power yoga and need a firm grip. One of the other Yogis had an older version of this and she highly recommended it. My husband bought it for Christmas for me. The first few times were great.
After about 3 weeks I began sliding all ver the place. I spent more time adjusting my mat last night than in the pose. This mat does not hold without sliding and I would not purchase another. My husband lost the receipt so I guess I am stuck with it.

Gets better with time
I love this mat. I have used it for about a year now. When I first bought the mat I was extremely frustrated because the fabric was so slippery that I could hardly hold downward dog without my hands and feet slipping out from beneath me. But, after the first 5 classes with this mat, it was much less slippery. I wash it in warm water and lay it flat to dry. I always layer this mat on top of a padded mat for the extra cushion, but I find it also prevents the scrunching and folding.

obsessed with this towel!!
I got this towel for Christmas from my mom, and I was a bit skeptical of it since it looked so thin (wondered how it could possibly absorb sweat in hot yoga). Turns out, it is working GREAT, really absorbs the sweat, dries super easily after washing, and it's a really pretty pattern...I've gotten a lot of compliments. Definitely recommend! Thinking of purchasing another.

NOT good for hot yoga
I bought this mat in hopes that the towel top would keep my hands and feet from slipping during my hot yoga classes. It did keep my hands from slipping around on top of the mat (kind of), but the bottom of the mat WOULD NOT stay in the same spot on the floor. The entire class was spent flattening the mat back out because it got so wrinkled, that I could not even move to another position without readjusting it. I used the mat a couple times but had to go back to using my old cheap rubber mat with a towel on top. Huge bummer.

Bambi on ice...
I was really excited when I ordered this mat because during vinyasa or power yoga (especially hot yoga) I sweat profusely and I thought this would be great as my first lulu mat. I was really disappointed however because this mat is so incredibly slippery! I was doing a yoga routine at home and I was slipping everywhere! I was only 16 minutes into my practice and I couldn't even hold a down dog anymore, I had to stop and grab my regular mat. I am thankful that I didn't bring it to a class because I can't even imagine what I would have done for an hour with it... This mat is very dangerous and really interfered with my practice because all I could focus on is not breaking my wrists... Really disappointed, would not recommend.

I was SO excited about this mat!! I got it as a gift and I couldn't wait to start using it!! The reviews are right...it STINKS!! But I loved it anyway. The first class that I used it it was amazing. Didn't slide around at all. The second class I took it to, however, was more standing poses and warriors and it wrinkled up so bad! Seriously, it was so stretched and folded up that I had to get off of it and completely flatten it about five times during that class. I've tried to give it a little more time (I've been using it for about 2 weeks now) and its the same thing. It will be stretched between my hands and feet and then when I move it folds up (like 4-5 inch folds). It is a constant distraction and I am constantly having to interrupt my practice to fix it.

does its job but...
I've had this mat for a few months and I've used it countless times. I found that drying it in the dryer for several cycles was necessary in order to complete dry the mat. If the mat is not completely dry, I found myself slipping on the mat. Since it is so thin, I use it over a 5mm mat and it doesn't seem to slip.
However, since washing it, the rubber base seems to breaking apart. The microfiber top has little black 'dots' all over it from the base. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem. The 'dots' are very small but since I am using it for hot yoga, I found them sticking to me!
