Best mat out there
I've tried them all & nothing compares to the Lulu mat. My old Jade mat started disintegrating within three months of daily use, and my Manduka & Prana mats were just too slippery to be safe in sweaty classes.
I resisted this Lulu mat for so long, but I can now say it is the best investment I've made so far. No matter how sweaty the class is, I am calm & completely focused on my practice rather than worrying about slipping.
Yes, it gets dirty over time (so buy a darker color) & yes, it smells a little funky at first (air it out). It is still the best mat on the market for a serious yogi. If you want to focus on your practice instead of your mat, this is the one for you.

Mat doesn't last
My husband found a great review for this mat so I decided to try it. I use it to practice Baptiste inspired yoga. I started using the mat August 20, 2014 and to, date, I've used it for 24 yoga classes. I've sweated in all the 24 classes and I've cleaned it with water only. Initially is was great; it never let me slip; it absorbed my sweat away and left a dry non-stick surface for me to flow through vinyasa's nicely. I LOVED IT. With the mat, I only needed a mat for class; not a mat and a mat towel. Lately (past 4 classes or so) it hasn't been absorbing as quickly resulting in some less than steller downdogs towards the end of the practice. I've had to put my hand towel on the mat to keep from sliding. Also, my hands slip in the beginning of my practice; to make sure it wasn't due to oil or lotion on my hands; I wash my hands prior to practice and it's the same thing. Sadly, I'll have to agree with all you yogini's who said that the mat is great at first but quickly looses it's ability to keep you from sliding. I'm not sure if I'll buy another one full price; but I'll take one as a gift or on sale - it was AWESOME for about 17 practices.

Love this mat!
I had a Manduka Pro for the longest time and loved it -- but for my hot yoga classes it seriously turned into a slip and slide!! I couldn't hold any pose because my hands and feet would slide immediately ( even with using a towel ). I'm a HUGE sweat-er though. I pour sweat in my hot classes. I even slide on Jade's. I bought this mat and could not be more grateful! I don't slide at all and I don't need a towel for the mat.
Only thing I don't like about this mat is it scratches up so easily. I've only used it a few times and there are scratches all over it.. I don't know where they came from since I roll my mat with the top surface facing inward.

Was hoping for more
I was so excited when I bought this mat in July at the Pasadena store. I went with the bright pink color because I wanted something fun and energetic for my early workout session. Once the initial smell of the material wore off, I loved how grippy the mat was during my often very sweaty practice. I'm said too say that my mat looks discolored and dirty after 2 months. I've cared for the mat as recommended on this site but the mat looks dingy in all the areas where I sweat most often. I'm really disappointed with how bad it looks after such a short amount if time. Had I known this would be the case with pink, I would have bought a different color or maybe passed on the purchase entirely.

Not recommended for hot yoga
I ordered this mat under the impression that it would be suitable for hot yoga, and apparently it is not because I keep slipping. Really disappointed at the waste of money.

Aweseome yoga mat
I was shopping at the Portland Oregon store and the super nice and helpful store associate and manager so kindly allowed me to trial this yoga mat for free!! I've been using it for about a month now and absolutely love it. This is the best yoga mat I've had. I'm so thankful for this mat- it's durable and I can practice my yoga poses with ease- it's sticky-ness is on another level, I feel as if my mat is supporting me. Thanks so much to the Portland store- you guys rock and are so kind!

not a good customer service
I bought this mat, the pink one. as I was going to my class I decided to open and use it. the cashier took the packaging and throw it away without telling me anything. As soon as I opened the mat, I realized this is not a good color for yoga. It is too bright and distracting. I didn't use it. A day after I went back to the store to changed the color but they refused since I didn't have the package around it!!!!!!
If that was a rule, she should have told me to keep it in case I want to return or exchange it. I am sooooooooooooooooooo frustrated, paying more than 70$ for a mat that I am not even using it. She told me buy a new one and sell yours online somewhere!!!!! Absolutely mad & disappointed. I would never buy anything else from Lululemon and I won't recommend it to any other friend just because of its customer service.

Like, not love
I love this mat, yet it's pretty heavy. I'm not sure if the extra cushiness is worth the weight, considering I still have to use a soft pad under this yoga mat when I do Pilates and certain yoga positions. There is also quite an interesting smell, and I have to unroll it every time I use it so it doesn't stink up my car! Out of all my lululemon products, which I always love, I am unsure of this one.

I bought my mat not too long ago. It's been great thus far, but I have noticed some discoloration on the mat. Not the normal dirt and sweat issues though, I'm really careful with my mat so it's weird that I'm having maintenance issues. It's hard to explain. There not much I could find on how to care for the mat and if the discoloration is fixable, I would really like to know how to thoroughly and safely clean it.

Stickiest mat ever
I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about the smell. I left mine unwound for a few days before I used it, and the smell all but disappeared. It still has a hint of a rubber smell when I lay my face up against it, but if you ask me, that's a small price to pay for not having to fudge around with a blanket over top of my mat, wadding up all the time. This mat is the stickiest thing I've ever used, and I'm a hot, dripping, sweaty mess. Nothing is slipping here. I would suggest to all the other reviewers who are having trouble with slippage that they check to make sure they are using the right side. Apparently the ribbed side does not absorb sweat, and the smooth side does.
I bought a black one straight off, so I can't chime in about the scuff marks.
Fantastic investment, and if it ever stops working I'll have no problem going down and dropping another $75 bucks to get a new one.
